Trivia: If you look carefully, you can see that one of the wards in the hospital is entitled "The Fosdick Ward". "Fosdick" would later be used in "Carry On Again Doctor", as Patsy Rowlands played a character called "Miss Fosdick".

Trivia: If you look between the lifts in the foyer, you can see a portrait of James Robertson Justice, who starred in the "Doctor" films that were produced by Peter Rogers' wife, Betty E. Box, and directed by Gerald Thomas' brother, Ralph.

Trivia: Before being cast as Dr Tinkle, Kenneth Williams was originally asked to play Francis Bigger as there was some uncertainty as to whether Frankie Howerd would take up the part. However, Williams became uneasy about it and the role was given to Howerd.

Trivia: Sid James spent most of his screen time in bed as he had recently suffered a heart attack.

Trivia: This film contains a reference to "Carry On Nurse" (1959), specifically the daffodil thermometer scene. When a nurse approaches Frankie Howerd with a daffodil, he says "Oh no you don't! I saw that film!"

Continuity mistake: When Nurse May is sunbathing on the roof on the nurses' home, her bikini is undone. After she turns over, she sees Dr Kilmore and stands up screaming while still holding the towel in front of her and her top has been done up again.
