The box that Thing 1 and 2 come out of is really the hiding place of the world of the Cat in the Hat. The lock to the box is taken by the dog, who runs away. As they chase him through the town, the house is taken over by the Cat's world. They get home and lock the box and everything turns back to normal. Then, the house explodes. The Cat confesses that he planned everything that happened for the whole day. The kids make him leave. Seconds later, the Cat and the Things come in with their cleaning machines and clean the house. They leave and the Mom comes home, impressed at the kids, and has a party. The Mom breaks up with Alec Baldwin. The Narrator turns out to be the Cat in the Hat.

Cat in the Hat: Don't worry, I have three plans. Plan A: Mess up a perfectly clean house. Done that! Plan B: Cut your losses and ditch the kids. That could work.
Sally: What about that one?
Cat in the Hat: Plan C: Trick Mom's boyfriend into handing over dog and lock. I don't know. I still like Plan B.

When Conrad first puts the spider lock in his pocket it is put in his left pocket, but when he takes it out, he takes it out of his right pocket.

Mike Myers clicks his fingers to left and then the right of his face and then moves his waist up in a circular motion. He did the same thing in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
