Factual error: After the first encounter with the Apaches, the covered wagon is headed to the Fort at full speed. The camera pans to the Apaches on the ridge and you can see a truck driving at the bottom right corner. (00:32:00)

Continuity mistake: A group of new recruits is introduced to horseriding. One spindly volunteer gallops off first, but when we see him from behind he has been replaced by a stuntman of about twice his width. (00:44:10)

Continuity mistake: When Beaufort instructs the new bunch of recruits he is standing right in front of their line. When the camera angle changes he is standing about two meters away. You can tell the difference best when you look at his shadow. (00:44:00)

Continuity mistake: Before the last and devastating battle begins York and O'Rourke lead the wagons to a ridge. In alternating shots the wagons are passing by an enormous rock or going through open plains. (01:47:45)

Factual error: When York is explaining to Thursday about Cochise and the Indian agent's calumny, he states that Cochise left and, "took most of his people and crossed the Rio Bravo into Mexico." The reservation in question would have been in the Arizona Territory, and the Rio Bravo and Rio Grande ceases to be the international border at El Paso, Texas. Cochise may have gone into Mexico, but he didn't cross the Rio Bravo to get there. (01:06:40)

Continuity mistake: When the group of soldiers with the coach goes full speed back to the fort the camera pans to the Apache ambushing them. After a few seconds the camera cuts back to the coach, which should be already out of sight but is still where we saw them before. (00:57:50)

Audio problem: When the musicians walk off after their serenade they intonate another song without anyone moving his mouth. (00:41:10)

Revealing mistake: Before the first encounter with the Apache, O'Rourke Jr. is looking out for Indians hiding behind a trunk. When he is being shot at and two bullets hit the trunk you see tiny volcanos erupt which obviously have been filled with explosives. (00:57:00)

Continuity mistake: Shortly after Lt. Col. Thursday is shot off his horse during the cavalry charge Captain York leave his troops on the ridge and rides to Thursday's aid. He helps Lt. Col. Thursday onto his horse and Thursday asks for and receives Captain York's sword. Minutes later Captain York is back with his men and is wearing another sword. Where did it come from?

Continuity mistake: In the charge to rescue Lt O Route, Col Thursday was leading the rescue force but in the charge he is nowhere around.

Captain Yorke: A charge! Mounted in fours.
RSM Michael O'Rourke: Why the madman.
Captain Yorke: And I'm to stay with the wagon train... and take O'Rourke with me.
RSM Michael O'Rourke: You'll find Lt. O'Rourke with his troop, sir. And thank you.
