Tracy gets drunk with Mike the night before the wedding. The morning of the wedding, Tracy finds Mike's watch in her room and cannot remember if something happenend between them or not. Her fiancee George shows up, she decides she cannot marry him even though they figure out that she did not cheat on him with Mike. The guests are waiting for the wedding to start. Mike asks Tracy if he could marry her instead which she declines since she would only make him unhappy and Miss Imbry wants him anyway. Her ex-husband C.K. Dexter Haven willingly fills in and marries her for the second time.

Trivia: Hepburn wanted Clarke Gable and Spencer Tracy for the male roles, but the studio gave her Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart instead. (She did get Spencer eventually when requested for Woman of the Year).
