Continuity mistake: When Anderton first starts getting chased, he kicks the glass out of the back side of the automated car. He then proceeds to climb on the top of it at which point the car then goes over a cliff leaving Anderton hanging from it. He then climbs onto the back side of the car (as this is not the top) and the glass is present again.

Other mistake: The name on the red ball at the beginning has the name 'Donald Dubin' on it. But in the end credits, it is spelled 'Donald Doobin'. (00:02:10 - 02:17:40)

Minority Report mistake picture

Continuity mistake: In the Jetpack scene, where John and the other two cops bump the ceiling, if you look at their food and drinks on the table, everything gets knocked over and spilt, yet in the following shot everything is neat, and the drinks have reappeared unspilt. (00:49:00)

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Anderton is going to kill Crow, the camera angle changes to behind Crow. In the window behind him you can see the demolitions charge used to create a bullet hole and crack the glass. (01:44:05)

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film when John's wife is talking to Lamarr he says "I haven't worn this in years" and turns around, in the following shot he turns around again. (01:57:15)

Plot hole: Anderton getting to Crow pivoted on seeing the Precog visions of Anderton killing Crow. But it's a causal loop. How did it happen the first time without the vision? To top it off, Anderton had Agatha in the room. Later Burgess points our to Witwer that there are no signs of Precrime descending on him because the Precogs can't see him about to kill Witwer because of their separated condition. However, that's the exact same condition the Precogs were in when Anderton was supposed to shoot Crow...so how would it be seen in pre-vision?

Suggested correction: The pre-vision of Anderton killing Crow happened before the Precogs were seperated, for Witwer's murder the pre-vision came too late. It's paradoxal but the fact there was a pre-vision of the Anderton-Crow murder, it was going to happen. But at the last second Anderton made a choice not to, something which the pre-cogs can't see as Agatha explained to him, the pre-visions are only 1 possible outcome of the future. Thats the flaw in the system.

Other mistake: When Anderton and the pre-cops are gearing up to prevent the Howard Marks murder, there is a shot of Anderton loading his gun. If you watch closely you can see he places a clip under the gun but doesn't actually put it in, he just sort of mimes inserting it. (00:08:55)

Continuity mistake: When John is in the Precog chamber, and Agatha grabs him, he is on the small platform, but when Wally comes in, he is no longer on the small platform. (00:27:15 - 00:28:05)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the film when Howard Marks goes out for the paper, he walks down his steps outside and reaches the bottom, twice. (00:04:10)

Continuity mistake: When John and the other precrime agents go to arrest Howard Marks, they stand in a group trying to figure out which house is the right one. A couple of shots later there's a wide shot of John from behind with nobody else there, and a couple of shots later still, the agents are all in a group again. (00:11:00)

Madstunts

Continuity mistake: When the pre crime cops are looking for John in the mall, there are 7 of them on the upper balcony, the leader tells two of them to "take the east end," and you see two of them run off to the left, yet in the following shot all seven of them are running to the right. (01:33:15)

Continuity mistake: When John runs into the alley he runs past a slightly burnt out car, but in the following shots the car is on the opposite side of the alley. (00:45:55)

Factual error: In the scene when Anderton escapes out of the Maglev Car, there's barely any wind blowing his hair or jacket, even though the car is moving at intense speeds and he can barely keep his balance. He jumps from car to car on a vertical track, jacket is not moving. Then he jumps on to the roof of another car and you him from the inside of the car, there's no wind movement on him at all. (00:43:55 - 00:44:55)

Continuity mistake: When Anderton is finally caught at Lara's place, we see a shot (from behind Anderton) of the precop resting the top of the halo on the back of Anderton's head. In the next shot, the halo is rested onto his head again. (02:02:00)

Matty Blast

Visible crew/equipment: When John and Agatha come to Rufus T Riley's place there is a low camera view of them walking through a doorway as Rufus starts saying about Anderton getting 'a little jerky for himself'. To the left of the doorway the crew are reflected going backwards filming the action.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where the police first go to arrest Howard and John is deciding which door is the right one his plastic face plate is down and in the next shot it is clearly up. (00:10:55)

Continuity mistake: When the cheated husband says "I forgot my glasses", the lover is on top of the wife, and tries to sneak by bouncing way up and then turning to his left. The jump is cut and the angle changes to a close up of the lover, but this time he is right next to the wife, as if he had just moved aside. No bounce. You'll need to freeze the image to notice it.

Question: OK, let's see: Lamar Burgess set Anderton up; he Hired Leo Crow and sent him to be killed in a hotel. But How did exactly Burgess plan the meeting of Anderton with Crow? Anderton arrived at the crime scene by a chain of events that began with the pre-vision of his destiny. It was clear that Lamar did not fake the pre-vision, because this became true just like it was predicted; besides, when Anderton was being chased, he arrived to crime scene by a coincidence; so what did Burguess have to do to make sure the existence of the pre-vision and this possible future? I don't see a simple solution.

Answer: Well, there isn't really a simple solution, but here goes. For a pre-vision to form, there have be two things present within the range of the precog ability (which appears to be limited to the Washington area - regardless of the stated plan to take the programme countrywide, there's never any indication that the precogs can sense beyond that range). Firstly, someone with the intent to kill. Secondly, there has to be a target for that intent within the range of the precogs. Anderton is present, and has the intent within him to kill the man who took his son, but has no target - the real kidnapper is presumably either dead or beyond the precog ability. Burgess, by bribing Crow to pretend to be that man, has provided a viable target for Anderton's intent within the range of the precog ability, thus triggering the prevision, and beginning the chain of events.

The above answers the question, but there do appear to be some time travel issues with this plot point in the movie. Burgess set things up for Crow to fake being the kidnapper and thus triggering Jon's desire to kill that person, everything starts by the pre-cogs seeing the future. If the pre-cogs did not exist or did not have the vision, Jon would have never known that Leo Crow existed and would have continued on without having killed anyone. This is unique within the movie, as the other murders would have been commited regardless of whether or not the pre-cogs saw it. In this case, the ONLY reason this murder occurred is because the pre-cogs saw it.

Thinking about this a little more, it could be conceivable that Burgess had planned a different option for Jon finding Crow. We just never saw that on screen, because the precogs changed everything to an alternative future timeline once they saw the original murder. Originally, Jon could have been triggered by Burgess himself, stating that they got a lead on his son's murder and pointing him to Crow.

oldbaldyone

No I think Burgess set it up so that Anderton would find Crow because of the precogs, not have a different plan set up before or else it could be possible Burgess himself would be visible in the prevision. He manipulated the system perfectly, he has done it before after all. He knows exactly how the precogs work so he is able to set it up so that it's untraceable. Except, except for the fact there is always a choice. Only then did it go wrong for him. This proves both true for Anderton and Burgess in the end.
