Continuity mistake: When Pinocchio is tying a rock to his tail at the edge of the cliff, there are two little rocks next to the big rock. Then when Pinocchio jumps off the cliff, the two small rocks are gone.

Continuity mistake: When Stromboli leaves his wagon the bolts on the door are totally different than they are when Jiminy Cricket enters the wagon. In addition, the items on either side of the door change too.

Revealing mistake: When Pinocchio gets in bed with Gepetto and Figaro, Gepetto puts out the light of the candle. If you watch closely, the light goes out a split second early.

Continuity mistake: When Jiminy is reading the letter that the dove delivered, the length of the text on the bottom line changes between shots.

Continuity mistake: When Pinocchio falls down while performing onstage, his nose gets stuck in a hole on one of the boards. This hole disappears later in the show.

Continuity mistake: The stripes on the gloves of many of the main characters sometimes are black and sometimes white with black outlines.

Continuity mistake: When Jiminy falls off the pool table and lands on the ground, his umbrella is not in his hand. Then a second later, he has it again.

Continuity mistake: When everyone mourns for semi-dead Pinocchio, his head lies sideways and his donkey tail is hidden. A shot later he is facing upwards and his tail hangs loose.

Continuity mistake: When we first see Gepetto inside Monstro's belly, he's wearing stockings and shoes. However, when Monstro sneezes and everyone escapes, he's barefoot, but there's no time for him to take them off.

Continuity mistake: When Stromboli's wagon goes by Geppetto in the street, the lantern attached at the end of it that was there when Jiminy hopped onto the wagon and when he and Pinocchio get off it later has vanished.

Continuity mistake: When the Coachman orders his men to close the doors to Pleasure Island, the small metal bar at the bottom of the door that is there when Jiminy Cricket comes later is gone.

Continuity mistake: When the Coachman drops his big bag of gold onto the table, it lands a good distance from the smaller bag and many of the coins spill out onto the table. In the last shot of this scene, as the camera zooms out of the bar, the bags are closer together than before, and the coins are gone.

Continuity mistake: In the opening shot of Lampwick playing pool, there is no black 8-ball on the table, however when it cuts to a closer view after Lampwick pockets a ball, the 8-ball has appeared, in a previously 8-ball-free area.

Audio problem: During 'Hi Diddle Dee Dee', Jiminy almost gets stepped on by Honest John. When Jiminy jumps on his tail and then his head, you can see Honest John's face. Honest John is singing, but not moving his mouth.

Continuity mistake: In the beginning, Gepetto has to go upstairs from his workshop to get to his bed. But when Pinocchio looks inside later on, the bed and the workshop are on the same floor.

Continuity mistake: As Gepetto finishes painting Pinocchio, he gives him a simple one lined smile, however it cuts and Pinocchio suddenly gains two small lines at both ends of this one smile line and a little chin line.

Continuity mistake: When Pinocchio burns his finger, Geppetto runs over and grabs Pinocchio and starts running around looking for water. Watch Geppetto's hat throughout this scene. It disappears then appears over and over.

Continuity mistake: When Pinocchio first performs, singing "I've got no strings.." as he falls down the stairs, the red feather in his hat jumps from the left side, to the right side, and then back to the left.

Continuity mistake: Jiminy's umbrella changes from red to purple and back quite often during the movie.

Question: When Pinocchio finds Geppetto inside Monstro's stomach, Geppetto has shoes and socks on. But when Pinocchio and Geppetto are escaping on the raft, he is barefoot. Where did his shoes and socks go?

Answer: It's not explained. This appears to be a plot hole or whatever happened somehow got edited out.
