Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Question: It is said that in the original script, Julie the babysitter was meant to be Freddy's pawn, and even though they removed that part, there are still elements in the film that point fingers at her. What are some of these elements?

JohnShel91

New this month Chosen answer: Mostly just very subtle hints. In the beginning when she arrives right around the same time that Heather gets a call from the psycho-stalker, suggesting a possible connection. And the fact she's alone with Dylan many times during the film, as she could be subtly manipulating him to act out.

Question: Probably a dumb question, but does Robert Englund really paint pictures for a hobby...or was that simply made up for the film?

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: According to his wife, the painting was made specifically for the movie. Robert doesn't paint at all.

Question: What is the role of Robert Englund in this movie? Is he and Freddy Krueger supposed to be the same (as his picture and disappearance indicate) or two different characters (as the credits indicate)?

Chosen answer: In the beginning he is just Robert Englund, but as the film goes on, the characters start becoming who they were in Nightmare 1, so he begins to become Freddy, and goes away so he doesn't harm anyone. The demon that looks like Freddy isn't Freddy, just a demon who takes the shape of the character Freddy.
