Trivia: Director Gints Zilbalodis has stated that part of the inspiration for the film was completing his first feature, which he largely made by himself, and being given access to more time, money and crew to collaborate with on his second film, which became "Flow." The cat represents his own need to learn how to work with others. He also wanted the film to be a statement on how to become braver and live with fear and insecurity both on your own and with the help of others.
