The Six Triple Eight

Factual error: All the jeeps used have "single pane" post-war windscreens. Wartime jeeps had a double pane with a bar down the middle.

Factual error: The unit is based in Glasgow in 1945 (after Roosevelt's death in April of that year). They are shown sheltering from an air raid. There were no air raids on Glasgow in 1945.

Factual error: Lena Derriecott, one of the main characters, got married in 1944 before the 6888 deployed overseas. The romance subplot is totally fictional.

Continuity mistake: The 6888 arrived in Glasgow in February 1945. Their breath is frosting the air. Three months later, in May 1945, their breath is still frosting the air; there is frost on the ground and still no leaves on the trees.

Factual error: The Six Triple Eight depicted has officers and privates but no NCOs whatsoever. In reality, the battalion had the same complement of corporals and sergeants as any other battalion.

Necrothesp

Major Adams: They're already of the opinion that the Negro woman is dumb, inferior and lazy. And I'll be damned it I allow a woman in my unit to prove them correct!
