Inspired by another review from someone who hyperbolically suggested only the "lowest" of people would like this film, I took on watching "Dirty Girl" as a challenge and found it a decent bit of fleeting fun... though it never quite reaches the campy heights it aspires to. Likeable performances and some genuinely effective scenes manage to salvage the movie from its weaker moments and problematic pacing issues.
I'd give it an average 2.5 out of 5, rounding up to a 3 out of 5 for Movie Mistakes.
0/10. The movie attacks conservatives as people who shame the lead who they won't call the s-word,Macy plays an over the top Mormon,the gay friend's father is a homophobic bully. Steenburgen in cliched fashion finds the strength to stand up to him and the heck with what their 15 year old son does.She doesn't care anymore than the mother of the 16 year old girl,who,let's face it,isn't a "dirty"girl she's well,use your imagination,the kind of girl a lot of guys would like in high school.This is the worst movie Jovovich,and Macy have ever done.Anyone who disagrees with me,fine then.Mindless idiocy only the lowest of people could like.
