As the camera pans down to the slippers, look at the yellow brick road Dorothy is standing on - it is flat and looks as though it was simply painted.
Revealing mistake: When the Wicked Witch throws the ball of fire at the Scarecrow, you see the Tin Man get down on his knees and take off his hat to put out the fire. If you look really closely, you can see several hairs on the Tin Man's head.
Continuity mistake: When Dorothy wakes up, Toto jumps on the bed. She hugs him while he faces the left side, and she says, "Toto, we're home." A shot later, he is facing the right side.
Visible crew/equipment: When Dorothy is in the Witch's castle, as the Wicked Witch goes to get the hourglass, the camera's shadow can be seen moving on Dorothy's shoulder. (01:17:55)
Answer: Another fine example of the Mandela Effect. None of the "making of" books reference this alternate ending. The original book ends with Dorothy losing the slippers on her journey back to Kansas.
