5 factual errors

(4 votes)

Directed by: Dave Wilson

Starring: Guy Pearce, Vin Diesel, Sam Heughan

Genres: Action, Drama, Sci-fi

Factual error: When Ray leaves his wife Gina and his car is hit by the truck he should still be in England, but when he is being chased through the streets he is in South Africa, the cops in the car are not in English police uniforms or vehicle, police livery is incorrect, and all vehicles have South Africa plates, not English number plates.

Factual error: An aerial view of a seaside location is shown and presented as the Amalfi Coast, in the Campania region in the south of Italy. What's shown is not the Amalfi Coast but the Cinque Terre (Five Lands) in the Liguria region, northwest of Italy. A second sequence at 6:58, meant to show the following morning where the protagonist wakes up, is again supposed to show the Amalfi Coast but it's the town of Vernazza instead, in the Cinque Terre. (00:05:21 - 00:06:58)

Epigenis

Factual error: After the truck crash in the tunnel flour is all over the place and in the air, which is a massive explosion risk. The mercenaries get out of the vehicles and ignite flares, this would cause a massive compressed explosion due to the walls of the tunnel not only immolating everyone in there but likely tearing them apart due to the dispersal of air at an explosive rate.

Factual error: After Vin Diesel leaps from the truck trailer to attack the mercenaries he elbows a gun that smashes into pieces. For this to happen the mercenary would have had to be holding the gun hard enough that it wouldn't be able to move, allowing the vibrations from the hit to break the gun apart. Even if he were, it would simply break every bone in his hands before falling to the ground, there is no way that the gun would shatter like that in human hands.

Factual error: When the main villain throws KT into the wall with his prosthetic arm he only moves his arm. A super strong arm alone would require equal force from both the pushed and the pusher. He would at least have had to brace himself for the push, standing upright like that would have made them both fall over.
