Continuity mistake: When having lunch, Cal takes Rose's cigarette off of her hand and talks with his hand next to his jaw. Depending on the angle, the hand is up or down. (00:32:30)
Continuity mistake: When the alarm sounds in the boiler rooms, the officer shouts "Shut all the dampers." We see all of the firemen shut all the loading doors to the furnaces. But a few clips later, when water pours in, the water flows past open furnace doors. (01:35:00 - 01:37:20)
Continuity mistake: About half an hour in when the rear of Titanic is shown, look at the very rear of the ship and you will see a red sign (near the triple screws) to the right of an over-hanging light. Shortly afterwards when Rose approaches the rear of the ship to jump off, the sign has now moved to the other side of the light. (00:31:50 - 00:36:15)
Continuity mistake: After making love, Jack says to Rose "Don't worry, I'll be all right" and kisses her, sucking the upper part of her lip. When the angle changes, he is sucking the lower part. (01:31:50)
Continuity mistake: About to jump off the boat, Rose says "You're crazy" and looks at the sea. A frame later, her head is turned towards Jack. (00:39:10)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Jack and Rose enter the water, Rose is barefoot, yet later she is wearing pale shoes: the heels are visible later when Rose is on the floating door. (02:36:50)
Continuity mistake: When Jack and Rose are being carried towards the locked gate by the water, we see the water and Rose hit the gate in the first long shot and then the camera changes to a close angle of the gate and Rose and the water have not reached the gate yet. (02:15:30)
Continuity mistake: When we see Rose at the start she says she doesn't know what all the fuss is about. As she says this she has her hand on her hat, but after the angle changes it isn't. (00:21:15)
Continuity mistake: Cal checks his pocket watch when getting ready to board the Titanic. In one shot he has his walking stick raised. In the next shot it has vanished completely. (00:21:50)
Continuity mistake: After Rose breaks Jack's handcuffs they join some sailors to ram down a gate. A frame later, from the opposite angle, the gate's position is totally different. (02:03:10)
Continuity mistake: Rose is attempting to commit suicide and tells Jack to leave. When he says "No", his hair swaps from being all over his face to neatly combed, between shots. (00:38:15)
Continuity mistake: Inside the car, Jack places his hand on Rose's shoulder, but a frame later it's on her arm. (01:30:00)
Continuity mistake: When Jack is manacled in the master at arms' cabin as it floods, the drawers from the left-hand side of the desk behind him are floating around in the water, then for a short shot are back in the desk and then floating around in the water again.
Continuity mistake: When Rose is hanging off the back of ship she first isn't holding the train of her gown then suddenly she is.
Continuity mistake: After Old Rose watches the taped images of the sunken Titanic, Lizzy puts her hand on her shoulder. Then she takes it off and moves away. When the angle changes her hand is still on Rose.
Continuity mistake: When old Rose grabs the dragonfly jewel she places her left finger under the broken wing. When the angle changes her finger is away and she is repeating the previous movement.
Continuity mistake: When Jack is talking to Rose for the first time, his hair is constantly changing position. (00:39:30)
Continuity mistake: We see the plates sliding out of the holder and smashing as the ship starts to go vertical. Then 50 seconds later we see more plates falling from the same holder. However, the positions of the plates have changed and there are stacks of plates in sections that were empty. (02:30:10 - 02:31:00)
Continuity mistake: When the pastor is giving a sermon on the deck of the sinking Titanic, there are people grabbing his hands in one shot and not in the next. (02:29:45)
Continuity mistake: We see Mr Andrew walking through the 1st class cabins just after hitting the iceberg. He has 4 blueprint rolls under his arms. We then see him out on deck while discussing the situation with a few other men and the rolls have gone. As he gets to the office with Captain Smith he has the rolls again. (01:39:20)
