Other mistake: In the air combat part of the film, there are two close-up shots of an attacking plane which is a P-47 Thunderbolt. Also, in a couple of brief shots of a single aircraft attacking from the rear, it's definitely a Spitfire. The Spitfire at 01:44:53 and the P-47 at 01:47:07. (01:44:53 - 01:47:07)
Twelve O'Clock High (1949)
1 other mistake
Directed by: Henry King
Starring: Gregory Peck, Hugh Marlowe, Gary Merrill, Millard Mitchell
Visible crew/equipment: After the opening credits and intro at the start, in the first shot, just before the 'Britton and Sons Hats' glass door begins to open inward, the reflection of the camera and cameraman can be seen on the glass surface. (00:01:40)
General Savage: Rights, Gately? You've got a right to explain to General Pritchard cowardice, desertion of your post, a yellow streak a mile wide! And maybe he can explain it to your father so that they'll both be proud of you! You can tell him right now.
