Big Red One (1980)

Other mistake: When they are running through the surf and up the beach in North Africa, there aren't any landing craft in the sea behind them. (00:10:22)

Other mistake: In the air combat part of the film, there are two close-up shots of an attacking plane which is a P-47 Thunderbolt. Also, in a couple of brief shots of a single aircraft attacking from the rear, it's definitely a Spitfire. The Spitfire at 01:44:53 and the P-47 at 01:47:07. (01:44:53 - 01:47:07)

Dunkirk (1958)

Trivia: When the destroyer is bombed next to the mole, the shots of it sinking are of the corvette Compass Rose from The Cruel Sea.

The King's Speech (2010)

Factual error: A Humber Pullman, reg no UJ7 847 is in the scene where the Duke of York enters No 10 Downing Street via the garden entrance. The scene in which it appeared was before Edward VII's abdication, but the Humber was first registered 30 Dec 1936, which is after his abdication.

Trivia: When Richard Hannay is hanging on the minute hand and you get shots of the clock gears bouncing about, they appear to be car gearbox internals. There is definitely an BMC A-series differential in there.

The Cruel Sea (1953)

Continuity mistake: In a scene supposed to be after the ship has been fitted with radar, it is shown entering harbour with the 'lantern' removed and the aerial covered, which is how it's shown before the ship has the radar fitted.

The Cruel Sea (1953)

Revealing mistake: In various scenes before the Compass Rose is supposed to be fitted with radar, it's obvious the 'lantern' round the already fitted radar aerial has been removed and the aerial itself covered with a tarpaulin to simulate the ship in its earlier, pre-radar, state.
