I saw this movie in theaters and then again on Disney +.

I was in a peculiar mind set when I first saw this film. It wasn't very long after The Last Jedi when this hit theaters. And AT THAT TIME, I had originally loved Last Jedi when I first watched it. However my opinion on that film has soured over time, especially after Rise of Skywalker came out and made it even worse in retrospect. But I largely had the Phantom Menace effect when I first saw Last Jedi and thought it was great.
I saw Solo on the heels of that, only a few months later in theaters, and was hyped for it.
I remember being very disappointed in the film at the time and thought it was meh, but still OK. Well in the last couple of years me and my dad have been doing a full chronological watch of all of Star Wars in order, starting from Phantom Menace and going through all the films and TV series including my first watch of Clone Wars and all that, so we also did this movie. Which was my second time watching it.

I had a much greater appreciation of the film this second time around and liked it a lot. It's still not great and doesn't hold a candle to the original films, but I really liked it this second viewing. And I feel Alden Ehrenreich does a really solid job playing a younger Han. Yeah the movie has it's problems, silly twists and turns and shoe horning in a few characters and situations and items that feel out of place or forced. But I still like the film a lot.
I'd say it's one of the better Star Wars projects to come out of Disney, though they did set that bar pretty low.

With my first viewing of the movie in theaters, I'd have given it a 3 star, but after this second viewing... I'm in 4 out of 5 star territory for it now. I like it. ^^

Mistake Status: I'll probably get to it at some point.

I was really looking forward to this film. Unfortunately, it's pretty lackluster. The much anticipated first meeting between Han and Chewbacca and the story of how Chewie became indebted to Han was underwhelming. Even the much hyped Kessel Run, which we finally got to see after years of hearing about it, was bland and uninspired.

Solo is just boring from beginning to end. Predictable and superficial. Additionally the visuals and cuts are irritating to the eye.

Revealing mistake: When Chewy puts his hand on Han's shoulder at the end, Joonas Suotamo's finger is visible through the fur.

Question: How did Han and Chewie get off the desert planet at the end?

Answer: Or they could've hitched a ride with the Cloud Riders.

Answer: By the end of the movie, Han and Chewie have been left with some items of worth, plus their smarts and charm. We don't see how exactly but we can assume that's enough to get them into their next adventure.

Answer: I would classify this as the traditional movie serial "cliff hanger" ending where the audience is purposely left pondering what happens to the protagonists and must wait until the next installment to learn the outcome. Considering Solo underperformed at the box office, there is the possibility there may not be another independent Han Solo film. However, the characters would likely reappear in another stand-alone Star Wars film, thus answering how they escaped their situation.
