Hawk the Slayer

Continuity mistake: When Voltan approaches the monastery on his horse to deliver Hawk and the others an ultimatum, the Abbess goes outside to listen and it is night time. However, in every shot of Voltan speaking to them it is day time. (01:07:32)

Continuity mistake: When Gort is setting up the "dead mans switch" on the slave trader the location of his hammer resting on his wooden carry case changes from shot to shot. Sometimes it's sat right next to the slave trader, sometimes a bit further away. (00:53:21)

Continuity mistake: When Gort is fixing the wheel on the man's wagon there are brown leaves stuck to it. When the shot changes to behind Gort the leaves have suddenly vanished. (00:31:45)

Continuity mistake: When Voltan barges into the convent with his men the nuns go from behind their individual pews to huddled in a group behind the Abbess between shots. (00:11:06)

Continuity mistake: When Hawk and the gang attack Voltan's camp Crow jumps over the same tent and fires an arrow at a soldier three times. It's the same shot each time. It might have been less obvious if they were not shown one after the other. (01:10:31)

Continuity mistake: Throughout the film there are a number of obvious jump cuts which create glaring continuity errors. For example, when Hawk and Ranulf enter into the mystical gateway in the forest and then suddenly disappear (as they are supposed to have entered a separate dimension), the fog behind the gate suddenly changes pattern as they disappear, betraying the use of a jump cut.

Jack Vaughan

Continuity mistake: When Hawk and Ranulf are about to enter the gateway in the forest, Hawk raises the "mind sword" which lights up bright green. Then cut to a shot from behind and Hawk still has the sword raised in the air but there is no longer any green light illuminating the forest. (00:29:12)

Continuity mistake: When the two bandits are having a competition throwing axes at Ranulf, from shot to shot, the positions of the axes stuck in the tree next to his head are noticeably a little different. (00:21:58)

Jack Vaughan

Continuity mistake: When Hawk frees Ranulf from the tree (after he's killed the bandits) there are no marks on the tree where the bandits had thrown axes. (00:23:29)

Jack Vaughan

Continuity mistake: When Ranulf is in bed and explaining the fate of his village to the nun, in the close-up shot of them the nun is facing away from Ranulf but when the shot changes to a wide shot of the room she is now facing toward him and then back to the close-up shot, and she is facing away again. (00:08:47)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning, when Voltan arrives on horseback at his fathers castle, it is daylight. We are then shown an exterior shot of the castle itself and it is pitch black. Then, a minute or so later, we see Hawk arriving on horseback at the castle and it is daylight again.

Jack Vaughan

Revealing mistake: When Hawk is enchanting his fathers sword he holds the "mind stone" in the palm of his hand and you can see a wire attached to each side of the stone. A few seconds later and, of course, it "magically" lifts from his hand. (00:03:14)

Crow, Elf: We have sat waiting like this many times before. Sometimes I tire... of the fighting and killing. At night, I can hear the call of my race. They wait for me. When I join them, we will be forgotten.
