Factual error: In the film, Blackberry is shown being "raided" by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). As a Canadian company with its headquarters in Canada, the SEC, by itself, has no jurisdiction to effectuate such a raid on the premises. In real life, the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) brought the case against Blackberry co-CEO, Jim Balsillie.
Continuity mistake: When the first police officer looks at the body, Maggie's long hair is down her back, but is not when an officer takes a photo. (00:01:38 - 00:02:33)
Continuity mistake: After Marcus moves his coffee cup and glass of water, the water is about its width away from the coffee cup, but is closer when the camera shifts to the opposite side of the table. Revealing mistake: After Kristin tramples on the muffin, it should crumble/flatten, but it starts to inflate back into shape. (01:17:45)
Continuity mistake: Andy is walking alongside a highway and is roughly between the "End Road Work" and "Speed Limit 55" signs. There is a tall, thin sign pole on the right-front side of the screen. Andy is almost at the pole when there is a cut to Bishop breaking into and searching a house. The camera returns to Andy, who is still walking at the same pace and just reaches the pole, but he should be much further ahead. (00:30:24 - 00:32:10)
Continuity mistake: The background panels change, and the angle of the camera can't explain the varying appearance of the wall (wider blue or lack of visible white square panels) behind the yellow flowers. During the pre-interview setup, the blue panels have white perimeters but later are brown and wider. (00:00:28)
Continuity mistake: The desk lamp (which has an odd 2-3" "halo" around its perimeter) faces the screen (angled away from Sid). Suddenly, the lamp aims at Sid spinning in his chair. The lamp goes back to its original angle but varies a couple more times. (00:41:20)
Continuity mistake: Isaac uses his right hand to drink some water, and his hand immediately goes from holding the glass to his mouth to holding chopsticks next to his plate. (00:20:58)
Continuity mistake: When Paris goes to the nude beach, right before she enters the water, there is no one in the water within a fairly wide span of beachfront on either side of her. Yet after she dips into the water and comes up quite quickly, her two aunts are swimming right in front of her, having seemingly come out of nowhere and without her noticing them before.
Factual error: Max sees a dog he wants to adopt at the "Seattle Animal Shelter" and the shelter worker tells him, "Just bring her back in a week to get spayed." All dogs/cats in Seattle shelters (as well as virtually all across the U.S.) must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Other mistake: When Adam Sandler calls his daughter on a video chat in the car with her friend, the picture of his daughter is not the same as when she is in the car. When they jump between her and him on the call, her hair and background are completely different than they are in the car. (00:23:17)
Continuity mistake: Before Francois writes on the whiteboard (dry-erase), the words at the top are not boxed-in (or underlined). After being boxed-in, the words are surrounded by more of an oval shape, then not highlighted at all - but the words on the third line are boxed-in, followed by being underlined 4 times, to not underlined, to being boxed-in again. Continuity mistake: Amy orders two black coffees. When she gets to work, she holds one cup in her right hand and helium balloons in her left. Continuity mistake: The covered object (storage container or pet carrier?) is at an angle to and extends past Bob's desk, but is against the side of the desk when "Binky" the rabbit jumps onto it, as well as when Binky jumps from it onto the floor. (00:12:53 - 00:13:47)
Continuity mistake: The yellow box, blue mailbox, and blue SUV along the kerb are at different distances behind Chris, with all further away when he turns around to "move on to the next crime scene." (00:01:45 - 00:02:30)
Continuity mistake: Lily has 4-5 stacked pancakes on her plate, including a half-eaten one on top. After she pours syrup on the stack, there are suddenly 7-8 pancakes, arranged differently.
