Madison picture

Factual error: In the scene at the Miami hydroplane race, Mike McCormick spies a long haired boat pilot and naively asks one of the locals, "Is that Grizzly Adams?", to which he is answered facetiously, "Yeah, that's Dan Haggerty." The story takes place circa 1971, but actor Dan Haggerty didn't play Grizzly Adams 'til 1974.

Cry_Wolf picture

Factual error: Owen's phone is a Nokia 3300 which is one the phones which are designed to be wider rather than taller (like an N-Gage). Throughout the film when Owen speaks on the phone he holds it the wrong way around. He holds it to his right ear with the rounded edge of the phone pointing upwards to the top of his head. Holding it this way would mean he'd have the microphone to his ear and be speaking into the speaker. I noticed this because I have the same phone, obviously the actor was not sure which end was which and guessed, getting it wrong. I noticed this during the scene where he phones the girl that got stood up at her dance.

This is a lane violation in the National Federation of High Schools which governs middle and high school sports. The correct call would have nullified both shots and the points they scored.

Fantastic Four picture

Factual error: When Reed and Sue are testing the Human Torch's powers, they claim that a temperature as high as the Human Torch's (5000 K to 6000 K) will "ignite the atmosphere and destroy all life". This is incorrect. Many experiments in the lab and on the field have produced temperatures several orders of magnitude larger than the temperature of the Human Torch on a similar scale. Nuclear explosions can generate temperatures in excess of 8000000 K, and temperatures produced by the largest X-ray generator (the Z machine) have been as high as 3700000000 K. Such tests have not ignited the atmosphere.

Wedding Crashers picture

Factual error: Without getting into the physics of the whole thing, there is no way a shotgun, and especially a shotgun with the kind of shells they were using, could knock a full grown man down like that. At worst he would be bruised from the re-coil, or the weapon would fly out of his hand, depending on how he was holding it at the time he fired.

In other scenes, it is confirmed that the front hood on Herbie gives access to a trunk and not the engine.
