Continuity mistake: When Portnow meets with Bishop at the church, in the first closeup of Bishop's crossword puzzle the word "MUD" is the second word across at the top, and at the center of the puzzle the 4-letter word "GEAR" is written in the 5-letter answer - with the fist space left empty. However, in the next closeup of the puzzle, now the word "ETA" is the second word at the top and "MUD" is the third, and the word "GEARS" has the "S" added, with the letter "G" started properly in the first space of the answer. Continuity mistake: In the scene where John commits suicide by slitting his wrist, the soles of his shoes go from brand new and unmarked (quite clearly seen in a couple of close up shots) to scuffed and worn (also seen quite well in a couple of shots). (01:34:25)
Continuity mistake: When Lindsey is at her parent's house during spring break, they are discussing her father's hair. In the shot when her mother opens the fridge there are only 5 cookies on the plate, but when the shot changes and Lindsey is grabbing some cookies there is a whole plate of them. Continuity mistake: In the fight between Barkis and Victor in the church, Victor slashes at Barkis with the fork and leaves 3 very noticable tears in Barkis' jacket. These tears aren't seen in any of the subsequent shots. (01:09:15)

Continuity mistake: When Adam Sandler reverses into the police car, he damages the Bentley he is driving at the back end. When the police chase him, the back end is not damaged at all. (00:06:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Owen and Tom pull Dodger from the pool. We see that Dodger's hair is hanging down over her face. We then see Owen's reaction, and then we return to Dodger. This time we see that her hair is behind her ear. She didn't have the time and it wouldn't make sense that she changed the position of her hair.
Continuity mistake: The first time Tim walks towards his house as an adult, there is only a bench on the front porch. When he walks up the steps, there is a bicycle next to the door. (00:25:30)
Continuity mistake: Jack and Carl are in Carl's stateroom. Carl opens the crate of whiskey, takes out a bottle and puts it down. The bottle then turns itself around so the label's sometimes visible, sometimes not.
Continuity mistake: When Rachel begins to brake her car after seeing the deer on the road, as the shots keep changing the markings on the road also keep changing. In overhead shots the markings are a single broken yellow line, but in closeups of the wheels, the markings are solid double yellow lines. (00:30:40)
Continuity mistake: After Jonathan saves the baby from the car he goes to the funeral. In the funeral he starts talking to the baby's father and while they are talking you see a bald man with glasses pass by and glance at the baby and then in another scene you see the same bald guy pass again. Continuity mistake: Everyone is having dinner at Lady Catherine's house. Watch the candles in front of her. In the close-up shot of her face, every candle is standing up straight. In another shot, further away, the second candle from our left (Lady Catherine's right) leans towards the left side of the screen.
Deliberate mistake: In the shot where peoples' bags are being checked in the two Xray machines as President Zuwanie is arriving, you can see that both monitors are showing the exact same bag's contents. Also, although you can see one of the machines' Xray-active light turning on, the image on the monitor does not change. (01:40:35)
Continuity mistake: When Casey is skating on the pond after she leaves Harvard, she falls multiple times. The second time she falls, she lifts her right leg causing her foot to come into frame. On her feet you can clearly see that she's wearing black and green snow boots, even though seconds before that she was wearing white figure skates.
Revealing mistake: Ryan Reynolds is wearing red-eye contacts. You can see the whites of his eyes around the red circle of the contacts in several scenes - most noticeably, right after the home movie he's watching down in the basement melts.
Suggested correction: Not a mistake. Ryan Reynolds actually had bloodshot eyes from being awake for nearly two days of filming. He stated it in an interview for the movie.
Continuity mistake: In the kitchen scene at Greg Kinnear's house when Pierce is convincing Greg to fly to Arizona with him to do a job, the clock on the wall behind them first reads 5:45 am. In the next shot, the clock reads 5:28 am.
Other mistake: At the very beginning, when the lights rise above the cast you can see they're all equally spaced out and the light has the same brightness for each character. At the end of the song, the camera shoots to the back filming everyone from behind, note Mark, he's crammed in the corner next to Angel with out the same amount of space originally he started with and his light is very dim compared to the seven others. Continuity mistake: Livy is planting a garden when snow starts falling. As she runs into the house, notice the chimney aligned with the left edge of the roof. Ten seconds later the roof is covered with snow and the chimney has moved about 1 meter to the right. (01:11:30)
Visible crew/equipment: When Griff and Einar go to free the bear, the minute he enters the zoo with his car, you can see on the right the tripod (lighting) and crew member. (01:25:18)
