Best drama movie mistakes of 2005
Continuity mistake: After Casey has turned down Harvard and is skating on the pond, she falls many times. When she falls for the fourth and final time, her hat falls off. In an overhead shot, the camera even shows it laying on the ground above her head. When she gets back up upon seeing Teddy with the zamboni, her hat has disappeared. (01:12:05)
Continuity mistake: After his father's funeral, when Drew turns on the ignition and in following shots, the leather band that he wears on his right wrist (not the watch) is clasped with its strap facing his thumb, yet when he passes the sign for 60B, the band goes round the opposite way. Then, when he listens to The Hombres the leather band is flipped back, but when he picks up Global Business Today magazine it's switched yet again, and so on. (01:43:00)Super Grover
Deliberate mistake: To make Jim Braddock look more heroic, Max Baer is portrayed as being very mean and hateful. In fact, the real Max Baer was an extremely pleasant man who was devastated when Frankie Campbell died after fighting him. Many boxing historians and sportswriters have complained about this inaccurate depiction of Baer.wizard_of_gore
Continuity mistake: When Constantine manages to get the mirror through the window he falls on his back. To the right on the screen a chair lies on the floor beside a dresser. A few shots later when it cuts to Constantine getting up we can see the chair has changed position as its back now covers the opening of the dresser. (00:08:15)Mortug
Continuity mistake: In the final dinner meeting of the Merchants of Death (MOD Squad),the gun lobbyist gets a piece of pie with cheese on it, takes a small bite; then the alcohol lobbyist attacks it with her fork for a bite, pulling all the cheese off and toppling the little American flag in it. In the next shot of Bobby eating, and a closeup of the dessert, all the cheese is back on it and the flag is upright again.
Factual error: When Yuri is narrating about selling weapons for the US government (this was around the scene when he sells M-16's by the kilo), he mentions Lieutenant Colonel Southern. However, when you see the him, he has Colonel rank, which is a silver eagle. The Lieutenant Colonel rank is a silver leaf, not an eagle.
Revealing mistake: Whenever June is supposed to be playing the harmonica, the viewer can tell she is actually not playing it but just putting it up to her mouth. Her cheeks never are pushed out or sucked in by the air she is supposedly using to play the instrument. Also at the very end when she is playing the guitar it doesn't seem that her hand movements match the music that is heard.Joel Amos Gordon
Factual error: One of Angel's lyrics (in "Today For You, Tomorrow For Me) refers to the movie "Thelma and Louise." Rent (the movie) is set in 1989-90. "Thelma and Louise" was released in 1991.[This was caused when they did the move from Broadway to the screen. What happened was the stage show did not specify the year. So when they adapted the stage show to the movie, they didn't check the references. Plus it just sounds cool. Added info by Todd Loewen] (00:28:25)K.C. Sierra
