Continuity mistake: On the Pentagon the plot shows the USS John R Pierce intercepting the two Soviet ship but the marker on the plot says DD722 (it is upside down). DD722 was the USS Barton whilst the Pierce is correctly shown in the external shots as DD753. (01:12:25)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where James Spader meets Keanu Reeves in the graveyard, we first see a Ford Taurus taxi driving through the gates, but when Spader gets out, the taxi is now a Chevy Caprice.
Continuity mistake: In the last scene Kiefer Sutherland throws his cigarette away and turns to walk to his car but when the camera angle changes he is still smoking it, when he reaches the car he throws the same cigarette away for the second time.
Continuity mistake: Look closely at the characters list at the end titles: it reads "Gyspy Kids" instead of "Gypsy Kids".
Continuity mistake: When Kawada takes the picture with Keiko on it out of his wallet, you can see the picture from behind, because the light is on it. Then, when it is handed to Noriko, the picture is a completely different one. (00:54:20)
Continuity mistake: Whenever they are supposedly in the United Nations building, there is an enormous window where we can see the Bank of Montreal and Canada Trust buildings in Toronto.
Continuity mistake: When Harrison Ford is watching his wife laying in the bathtub ready to drown, the camera shoots her head several times between cutaways to Ford and the running water. Watch her head relative to the top of the tub in the various shots. In some her head is much higher than in others yet her body never moves.
Continuity mistake: When Samuel Jackson is about to be shot by the two corrupt cops, the Vanessa Williams character comes up from behind and shoots the black one in the head and he falls down. Then, they show her talking, and the same black man's arm and partial shoulder are in the shot.
Continuity mistake: At the end where Nick and Kaela swap eye colour, Nick's blue eye switches positions from right to left.
Continuity mistake: When the crew pull the hook out of the man's hand, he puts a spoon in his mouth - its facing right, but when he's done it's facing left. (00:55:15)
Continuity mistake: When Peter is in Carl's mind with Catherine and is getting his intestines wrapped around the spit, the amount of his intestine on the spit keeps decreasing then increasing suddenly. (01:16:25)
Continuity mistake: The computer terminal used by Don Cheadle's character has a grey cable connected but the connector appears damaged - twisted out of alignment. A few seconds later the same cable appears connected normally then, a few seconds after that, it is damaged again. (01:13:00)
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie there is a scene where Joan Allen is walking next to the President. If you look closely at her feet, she is wearing two different colored high heels.
Continuity mistake: During the climactic landing sequence at the end, the point of view shifts rapidly from head-on to alongside and back. Watch carefully at the first side-on view just as they're touching down; the nose of the shuttle says "Columbia". When it switches to the next head-on view, the wings say "Daedalus".
Continuity mistake: When the Wiccan girl and the guy writing the book were sitting at the table the guy knocks down the cup when he hits the table. In the next shot the cup is up again.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning, Giovanni Ribisi has a voiceover in which he refers to the #6 (subway) going to Fulton Street. The #6 train does not stop at Fulton, the 4 and 5 do.
Continuity mistake: Chris Rock and Morgan Freeman are outside of Rosa's apartment, looking in the trunk of Betty's car. The cut-out of Dr. David Ravell pops out. Chris Rock throws the cut-out on the ground and stomps on it. Chris Rock has on white tennis shoes. Later, when Chris and Morgan are inside Rosa's apartment, Chris Rock is wearing black tennis shoes when he is with the sheriff, taking his gun and handcuffs.
Continuity mistake: When "B" accidentally pulls the leg off of the dead dog, the position of it in her hands changes between cuts.
Continuity mistake: After the dummy is in the water with the camera and the killer comes back to check on his "garden", we see the dummy from behind while he's swimming towards it. His hair barely moves. Then we see the dummy from the front and the hair is flowing freely in the water like everyone else's.
Continuity mistake: After Johns dies and Riddick is talking to Fry you see in one shot that only the bottle that Fry is holding is lit up, yet in the very next shot you see that all three, Fry, Jack, and the Muslim kid's bottles are lit. (01:23:40)
