Continuity mistake: In most shots in the hotel room the houses you can see through the windows are quite far away, like across a wide street. Only in one shot, when Estella stands nude in front of the window, there is suddenly a window only a few meters away, through which one can see an Indian woman with her daughter, surprisingly unaware of the naked Estella. Continuity mistake: At the carnival, the glass of lemonade goes from half drunk to full. (00:32:20)
Continuity mistake: In the love scene with Gia and Linda you can see a band-aid on Gia's middle finger on her left hand twice but the third time you see her left hand it's gone.
Continuity mistake: When the matchmaker grabs Mulan's hand her palm is shown to be covered in ink. She then unwittingly paints herself a goatee. However, immediately after this she grabs the teapot's handle but no ink rubs off onto it. The ink miraculously disappears from her palm as well.
Continuity mistake: In the scene in the bedroom where the mother walks in on Gwyneth supposedly naked, she runs and jumps underneath the covers. However, you can see her underwear on as she pulls the covers over her. (00:04:28)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where DMX is with the two younger guys for dinner and one of them shoots the other, when he drops down on the table his arms fall off the table, but in the next shot they're neatly rested on top of the table.
Continuity mistake: When Isabel is helping the daughter make a tree more lifelike, Isabel paints the limbs outside of the round yellow ball shape. In the next scene when the daughter tries to do it, there are no limbs going out of the yellow ball shape. (00:49:30)
Visible crew/equipment: As Denzel walks into the lodge for the end scene and stops in the middle of the room, the camera rotates to the right and holds position. Other mistake: When Stevo cries as he discovers Heroin Bob dead, you can see Bob breathing.
Visible crew/equipment: In the very first scene, the boom mic is very obvious at the top of the screen.
Continuity mistake: Just before Helen gets hit by a car, it is pouring with rain, and she and James are soaked, although when she is about to cross the road, the rain has stopped and they are both suddenly dry. (01:23:55)
Other mistake: In one of the opening scenes where the boys ride to the baseball game, the fishermen they pass make a rude comment towards them. In response, you hear Joe ring his bicycle bell and see them flip the men off. The bicycle has no bell.
Other mistake: When the main characters are in the motel and they hear the moth flying outside the window, Stu, the creepy deputy with the glasses, picks up a shot gun and racks a round into the chamber. In the next shot of all of people firing at the moth through the window, Stu is now holding his revolver and fires with it. When he runs of out ammo with the revolver he picks up the shotgun again and before firing racks the pump again. Since he already did that the gun should have ejected the unfired shell that was already in the chamber from earlier, but no shell is ejected.
Factual error: When Christian Slater and Minnie Driver are trying to get out of the water before it reaches the transformer, there is a real big problem with this scene. If there really was a flood and it was rising that high, the city should have shut off the electricity to the entire city, to prevent any electric hazards that may happen in that situation.
Factual error: During the plague when the fire and rocks are falling from the sky, they fall behind a statue of Rameses and are seen through its hollow eye holes. It makes for a great image, but that would mean that the statue's eyes were punched out like a mask, even though before they were just carved into the stone.
Factual error: Dean Martin always drank apple juice when he was on stage because it looked so much like scotch and water and he had to keep up his reputation of being a heavy drinker who forgets where he is.
Continuity mistake: Whale commits suicide by drowning himself in the pool. When Clayton pulls him out the color of Whale's suit changes from black to brownish, and vice versa when Clayton throws him back in. Varying degrees of wetness should not be the reason as he should be drenched too while he is lying at the poolside. (01:33:40)
Plot hole: Alain joins the Legion, goes through extensive training and eventually gets his photograph taken. That's how Galgani recognises him and sends two men to kill him. They arrive with a platoon at the fort just after Alain, Mackintosh and Luther. The photograph would have taken a while to get back to France and then the two men would have to go through the same training. So how do they both end up in the same fortress after they joined the legion long after Alain?
Visible crew/equipment: Early in the movie when Robin Williams drives towards the tunnel where the accident happens, you can clearly see the shadow of the camera crane on the left side.
Factual error: About 20 minutes in when they are at some ball/dance thing, Shakespeare's talking with a musician holding a lute. You can see fret markers on the fretboard of his lute, but these were not used on instruments until the late 1800's, early 1900's, definitely not in Shakespeare's time. (00:27:20)
