Trivia: This was Johnny Depp's first movie.
Trivia: David Lynch was disgusted with the elongated cut of the film which includes paintings of the 'robot revolt' back story to the original film, a sub-plot he deliberately omitted. He demanded his name be removed from the credits of the film and replaced with the Director's Guild nom de plume, 'Alan Smithee'. This was done so sloppily, by superimposing Smithee's name over Lynch's, that the credit reads "A ALAN SMITHEE FILM".
Trivia: When Billy's mom takes the picture of Gizmo at the beginning, Gizmo becomes frightened and runs over to Mr. Peltzer. When the scene is slowed, you can see the puppeteer's hand underneath while operating the Gizmo doll. Not a mistake as needs slo-mo, but worth a look. (00:19:10)
Trivia: In the first scene of Burt and Vicky in the car there is a copy of Stephen King's 'Night Shift' on the dashboard of the passenger side. A little homage to King in that the short story 'Children of the Corn' is in this book.
Trivia: While everybody's voice was overdubbed here-and-there in "Conan the Destroyer," it is the prolific character actor Tracey Walters (as the thief, Malak) who holds the distinction of being totally overdubbed throughout the entire movie, because the boom microphones couldn't pick up his soft, nasal voice.
Trivia: In the first Western release, the movie was - for some unknown reason - dubbed "Warriors of the Wind", and the script underwent several (partially unreasonable) changes. Even some of the scenes where the more peace-seeking aspects were approached - like Nausicaä trying to raise non-poisonous plants in order to find the cause of the world's pollution - were simply cut out. Creator and director Miyazaki has since appealed to the fans to forget about this Western version.
Trivia: The angry customer who is screaming to Allen about his cherries is director Ron Howard's real-life father, Rance.
Trivia: The scenes of Billy and Christie gawking at the final battle between the two ninjas were filmed months after principal photography. Lucinda Dickey is wearing a wig because she had already cut her hair short for her role in Breakin'.
