Continuity mistake: When the family is getting into the car to go to the wedding one grandmother says to the other "let me in". The grandmother gets out to let the other grandmother in but the first grandmother never gets back in the car, she just pretends to. You can see her hiding behind the cars as it backs down the drive. Both grandmothers are in the car when they see Long Duk Dong on the lawn.
Continuity mistake: As Ren is dancing after the confrontation with his uncle we can see him dancing through the factory. He then does some gymnastics on a bar on the loft. If you look you can see that he is wearing gymnastics grips on his hands. Yet he did not have them on in the shot before, or in the shot afterwards.Scrappy
Continuity mistake: At the end of the film the hero follows the bad guy into a reservoir. When he gets there, the bad guy has dug a very deep hole in the ground in which he wants to bury the girl. But the bad guy arrived only two minutes or so before the hero and didn't have the time to dig a hole of that size.
Continuity mistake: In the extended version of the DVD, there's a scene where Constanza goes to sleep with Salieri. In one shot there's a very prominent candle next to or just behind her on her right that smoking like it's just been extinguished. But from the front view there are no candles that close to her, and the ones a short distance away are all lit.Krista
Continuity mistake: When the protagonists are trying to get to the French embassy they pass a VW beetle whose windshield is smashed by a Red Khmer. The camera angle is not very helpful but if you look closely you see that the window is gone already, and the pieces flying over the hood are from the bit of glass that sticks in the frame. Continuity mistake: After crashing through the guarded barrier of the base, David drives the stolen pickup truck and burning debris from the electrical storm falls onto the hood of the truck. In the next close-up the burning debris is shaped differently. Then after they crash through the wall, in the wide shot there is no burning debris on the hood. Yet, in the next close-up there's plenty of burning debris, but then in the next shot there is no burning debris again, just a smoking engine. The building debris surrounding the truck and behind it, in the first shot differs from all the building debris in the second shot as well. (01:21:50)Super Grover
Continuity mistake: In the torture scene near the end of the movie Winston is lying on the rack. One of O'Brien's aides removes the shackles of Winston's right arm, but leaves the one on the left arm fixed. Next shot: O'Brien tells Winston to get up, and he does, although the shackle on the left arm has not been removed. Minor mistake but noticeable.
Continuity mistake: In the first 1968 section, where Noodles rents a car and drives back to his old neighbourhood, watch the background of the wide shot as he is stopping the car. In the close-up that follows when Noodles gets out, two girls have appeared, hanging around a doorway, who were not to be seen the moment before.
