Best movie mistake pictures of 1971
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Willy Wonka and the group of golden ticket holders enter the room with the chocolate river, Willy Wonka picks up a mushroom head with his cane. If you look closely, you can see holes under the mushroom head where he has previously done this, probably more than one take for that scene.
Continuity mistake: The famous car chase ends with Bond's car tipping up on its right wheels to fit through a pedestrian path. However, when it emerges the other side, it's tipped on its left wheels. [When the car enters the alley this was filmed in a studio. When the car exits the alley this was filmed in Vegas. The first few times the exit was filmed the car emerged on the correct wheels but the shots were unusable because of the crowds in the background watching the filming. This shot was temporarily abandoned and eventually re-filmed with a different stunt driver who famously performed the stunt on the wrong wheels. Realising this, the producers filmed an insert shot featuring a close-up of Sean Connery and Jill St John which shows the car tip back onto four wheels and then up onto the opposite two wheels (even though the alleyway would be too narrow to manage this!), which is in the finished film].
Factual error: At the end of the movie the 1970 Challenger R/T that is shown crashing into the bulldozers is actually a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro at the time of impact. It's visible for just a few frames, from behind at impact (before exploding) and later as it stands on its nose, after the fire is put out. Note the plain steel wheels, painted silver in the latter shot.
Visible crew/equipment: When the Mayflower truck crashes into the police cars, crew members and the second camera (presumably filming the stunt from the overhead angle) can be seen in the wideshot at the left side of the screen, before the camera pans to the right for a close-up of squad car 351.
