Trivia: In this episode, Matthew becomes obsessed with the comic strip "Dilbert." At the end, Dave has an actor friend pretend to be Scott Adams, creator of "Dilbert", to get Matthew to quit the job at the coffee shop. The real Scott Adams appeared in the beginning of the show, in line at the coffee shop where Matthew first discovers "Dilbert."

Trivia: On the coffee table is the H.P. Lovecraft book, "The Dunwich Horror." In it, one of the main characters travels to the town of Arkham, a reoccurring town in Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, which is where DC Comics got the name for Arkham Asylum. In some versions of the Aquaman comics, Black Manta was an orphan at Arkham Asylum.

Trivia: When signing the International Superhero Accord, all the Ambassadors, save Henrietta Selick, are name of various crew members that worked on the film. For example, Alan Broiler was the supervising animator. That said she's clearly a reference to Henry Selick, a graduate of California Institute of Arts like director Brad Bird, who went on to direct The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline.

Trivia: When Mitchell goes to find a land-line, he passes flyers on the glass "Peter DeLuise for Class Secretary" and "Damian Kindler for a class Treasurer." DeLuise was the director and Kindler was a writer for this episode.

Trivia: On the scrolling text during the news broadcast it says "Notorious bank robbers Westervelt and Ghizas arrested Sunday evening after high speed chase." Dirk Westervelt was the film editor for "Deadpool 2." He also was an editor for "Logan." Nick Ghizas was the visual effects manager for "Deadpool 2." He was also a visual effects artist for the TV show "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Westervelt was also an editor for the film "Notorious" and "Faster."

Trivia: On the marquee they are showing "The Highwayman" (which could be one of several films). In 2016, the same year this episode aired, Craig Johnson published "The Highwayman: A Longmire Story." Incidentally, Netflix is distributing an upcoming film called "The Highwaymen." And, Callum Keith Rennie, who played Walker Browning in "Longmire", appeared in the 2000 "The Highwayman" film.

Trivia: When Dirk and Todd are talking about if Dirk ever solved a case, he mentions there was a bit about a sofa and Thor. This is a reference to the first two Douglas Adams' book in the Dirk Gently series, "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" (which had an immovable sofa) and "The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul" (which had Thor).

Trivia: "Sister Act" is credited as being written by "Joseph Howard." He wasn't a real person. It was a pseudonym Paul Rudnick made up for the film since his script had been re-written so many times by so many different writers that it didn't resemble what he originally wrote. He settled on the name when "R. Chasuble" and "Goofy" were rejected as possible names.

Trivia: When being fired upon, Fry says "shields at maximum yarnell." Shields and Yarnell were a dance and mime comedy duo that specialized in impersonating robots. Lorene Yarnell is probably best known for playing Dot Matrix in "Spaceballs."
