The Mentalist (2008)

Little Yellow House - S7-E7

Character mistake: During the Texas Hold 'Em poker game, George Holiday says, "What do we have on 4th street here?" But there is no 4th street in Hold 'Em. That's a term for a stud variant game when the 4th card is dealt.

Grimm (2011)

Tarantella - S1-E11

Character mistake: Hank's action as a cop towards the man on the boat makes no sense when going after Lena. He has to think the man he grabs is a potential victim. Obviously, he wants to keep him quiet, but there's no reason for Hank to hold his gun against an innocent man with his finger on (or near) the trigger.

Black Sheep (1996)

Character mistake: At Governor Tracy's acceptance speech, she thanks her husband, Dennis, and two children, Andrew and Patrick. However, she has a son and daughter, not two sons. Additionally, her husband is credited as "Donald" not Dennis, who was played by Patrick Pankhurst.

Character mistake: In the morgue, the Captain says the latest victim brings the total up to 16. However, prior to the killing, the news report said there's been 16 victims. This is the 17th victim.

Smallville (2001)

Suspect - S2-E13

Character mistake: When Sheriff Miller is talking to Clark and Martha about Jonathan being drunk, he says Jonathan blew a 2.0, referring to his BAC. He meant to say a 0.2. A 0.2 would be a blackout drunk stage, but a 2.0 would be a lethal amount.

Fade - S5-E20

Character mistake: Chloe is looking at her digital wall of weird for anyone with camouflage abilities in the past and says there's no match. They act like this is a new power. However, in season 1, "Shimmer", Jeff Palmer had the ability to turn invisible because of a cream he made with kryptonite infused green roses. That should have popped up in her search. And even if it didn't, Chloe should remember the ability to turn invisible because she got the cream on her fingers, which turned invisible.

Gone - S4-E2

Character mistake: When Chloe is rescued, and she sees Lois, she asks what's Lois is doing here. Lois says "putting the worst 2 months of my life behind me", indicating how long since Chloe supposedly died. But it had been three months at that point.

The Batman (2004)

Q & A - S1-E8

Character mistake: Artie says he'll recite pi to 100 decimal places. After the first few numbers, it skips to him finishing up by saying "46375." The last 5 digits would be "70679." In fact, the sequence "46375" doesn't occur until the 95,517th position.

The Batman (2004)

Q & A - S1-E8

Character mistake: In s01e08, "Q and A", Yelena moves her bishop to B6. The announcer says that's going to win it (the game gets interrupted at this point). However, that move does not put the computer (her opponent) into checkmate, it doesn't even put it into check. Her bishop is on a dark square and the computer's king is on a white square.

Raddoppiarlo - S4-E3

Character mistake: Deafy says he's a priest in the Mormon church and a member of the Quorum of the Seventy. But he wouldn't be a priest, he'd be an elder or a high priest. There's such a vast difference in the Mormon church between priest and high priest that he wouldn't refer to himself as a priest, even to a non Mormon. Especially since a priest in the Mormon church isn't close to what a layperson thinks of when they hear that word. He also mispronounces the word "Lamamite", even though he's from Utah.

Morbius (2022)

Character mistake: Doctor Bancroft mispronounces "Nobel" when reading the headlines to Michael. She pronounces as "noble." It's a famous award, especially in the field of science and someone as smart as she is suppose up be would know how to say the name.

Suggested correction: Honestly, I just rewatched the scene in question, and I really wouldn't consider that a character mistake. It's not a super egregious mispronunciation to begin with (the difference between the sound of the words is quite minor), and based on the way she speaks and the fact she has a bit of an accent, it just seems like more of a personal affectation than a character mistake.

Sliders (1995)

Lipschitz Live! - S4-E13

Character mistake: Maggie and Rembrandt go into Alt-Colin's room thinking it's their Colin. But then begin to question when he had time to buy a suitcase, get his stuff monogrammed, and where he would get the money for it. When they find Alt-Colin, he has expensive jewelry on and is acting weird, saying "homie" and hitting on Maggie. And yet they still act like this is their Colin and don't think about it being his double, despite the fact that they constantly talk about and met their doubles.

Sliders (1995)

Show generally

Character mistake: The Sliders are constantly trying to interact with a new world despite not knowing anything about it. This action often leads to misunderstandings, arrests, or threat of death. Sometimes there's even posted signs that they don't bother reading until it's pointed out by someone they've upset or annoyed. Yet they continue this action. They played a death lottery without asking question, order beer when it's not available to them, or try to pay without local currency.

Last Man Standing (2011)

Your Move - S9-E13

Character mistake: When Ryan is recreating the chess game he and Mandy played, he has the chessboard setup incorrectly. He has the dark square on the lower right corner when it should be the white square. He was a junior grand master and would know better, especially since he had the board set up correctly when they were playing.

Breaking Bad (2008)

Fly - S3-E10

Character mistake: After Walt tries to slap the fly on the paper, he lifts his hand and the math is wrong. He has 2,103 + 9,745 = 11,928 and 6,012 + 7,287 = 13,301. But the actual sums are 11,848 and 13,299.

Breaking Bad (2008)

...and the Bag's in the River - S1-E3

Character mistake: When Walt and Gretchen are talking about the elements in the body, they list hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, calcium, iron, sodium, and phosphorus. The percentage is short and she says "supposedly that's everything." But they don't count elements like sulfur (which has a greater abundance than sodium), potassium, chlorine, and magnesium. Even as college students, they would know those elements are in the body.

Falling Skies (2011)

Ghost in the Machine - S4-E1

Character mistake: Deni tells Anne she got a report from a scout 1,800 klicks west from here. She might have meant 18, but 1,800 doesn't seem logical. A klick is 1 kilometer (or 0.6 miles). It's unlikely a scout is over 1,110 miles away, which would put him in the middle of Texas.

Bishop73

Character mistake: When Death is playing hopscotch by himself he says "best 75 out of 81." But it would be best 75 out of 149.
