Bishop73

Corrected entry: When Hope is fighting all the guys in the hotel, she has the device that lets her shrink and enlarge things (she enlarged a salt shaker to stop some guys). But she could have just shrunk all the guys rather than engage in hand-to-hand combat. At the very least she could have enlarged the chandelier so that it comes crashing down, flown to the tech she was buying, shrink it and fly away with it.

Bishop73

Correction: Shrinking a living mammal outside of a protective enclosure causes it to turn into goo. This is a major issue in the first Ant-Man film. Hope wanted to escape the men, not kill them. Clearly her tactics were sufficient to get out of the hotel, so it isn't a stupidity that she didn't use every gadget in her arsenal.

I'd hardly call a van a protective enclosure. But even if that's the case, the fact that she had the ability to avoid the fight in the first place and quickly escape and didn't is the stupidity. Just like the various stupidity entries of people having guns, tools, or keys and not using them.

Bishop73

I agree. Since she could shrink herself down, that's all she had to do.

Tremors (1990)

Corrected entry: When Valentine grabs Mindy off the pogo stick, you can tell it's been stuck into the ground so the actress can stand on it and be ready for Kevin Bacon to grab her (as opposed to Kevin Bacon grabbing her while she's bouncing). After she's grabbed, you can see the pogo stick shake back and forth without falling over.

Bishop73

Correction: Although the pogo stick has been rigged not to fall over, that isn't a mistake. After Val grabs Mindy they look back at the pogo stick which is still standing perfectly upright when naturally it should have fallen over. The graboid then sucks it into the ground. The implication is that the creature grabbed the pogo stick just as Val caught up to Mindy.

The Icarus Factor - S2-E14

Corrected entry: When Riker's father is talking to Troi, he says Riker has just been offered his first command (the USS Aries). However, Riker was already given a offer to command the USS Drake, which he turned down to join the USS Enterprise. This would be at least his 2nd offer to command, something his father would be aware of given his position, and following his son's career has he has.

Bishop73

Correction: He says that he has been offered his first command, not that it was his first offer of a command. If Riker turned down ten offers, the 11th would still be an offer of his first command since he doesn't have one yet.

Correction: At impulse speeds, there would be no visible indication of movement as they're in open space.

This is incorrect. In-universe has shown the difference between a moving ship and stationary ship, even open space.

Bishop73

Exactly what is this difference you're referring to? If a ship is moving at sub-light speeds with only stars visible it is impossible to tell how fast it is moving, or even if it is moving. The only movement visible would be that imparted by the difference in movements of the camera and ship. (In fact, they create of the illusion of the ship speeding by by moving the camera past a stationary ship.) This is reality. If there is an error, it is the fact that the stars can be seen moving outside the hanger bay door which would indicate the ship was slowly rotating.

Die Hard (1988)

Corrected entry: When Argyle rams his limo into Theo, the limo and ambulance are pinned so the front of the limo is well in front of the ambulance door. However, when Argyle gets out and punches Theo through the window, he's standing where the limo should be, and not standing on top of it.

Bishop73

Correction: When Argyle rams the ambulance, the limo's front left corner hits the front left corner of the van at about a 40 degree angle. The angle of the two vehicles leaves a wedge-shaped gap. Argyle over the limo's bumper, but you only see his body as he goes over, not the car.

There is no gap big enough for Argyle to stand as he is based on the previous scene.

Bishop73

Just watched this scene, the limo gets stuck on the ambulance's front tire, and covers at most half of the driver side door. While Argyle does seem to have more room than he should, he does stand at the rear of the door where he would be able to do so without standing on the limo.

Except we see him jump (over the limo) and lands a bit before where the mirror and the small triangle glass part of the window is, which is the front part of the door and sits over the wheel well where the limo is.

Projections - S2-E3

Corrected entry: In the beginning, when the doctor is activated, he immediately asks who activated him. The computer tells him he was activated when a red alert was initiated. But then he finds out no one is on board, so there was no one to initiate the red alert at that moment. He should have been activated much earlier, when the crew was still on board and under red alert, even in a simulation.

Bishop73

Correction: But red alerts don't always have to be activated by a crew member, they can be automated warnings.

Fury - S6-E23

Corrected entry: At the start, Captain Janeway reveals that she has discovered Tuvok's birthday. Then she says it's not long before he hits the big 3-digits (meaning 100 years old). However, Tuvok was 107 when he infiltrated the Maquis and they've already spent 6 years on Voyager. Even if she didn't discover his birth year and was only guessing. Tuvok would not have replied with "indeed" but pointed out she is wrong.

Bishop73

Correction: We don't know whether they are speaking in terms of Earth years or Vulcan years.

Future's End (1) - S3-E8

Corrected entry: Future's End part 1 and 2 show no signs of a Eugenics Wars, which took place from 1992-1996, and devastated the planet with over 30 million deaths and led to Kahn ruling 1/4 of the planet.

Bishop73

Correction: Clearly some parts of the world escaped the Eugenics Wars unscathed, just as the continental United States escaped both World Wars relatively unscathed.

Basic Crisis Room Decorum - S6-E3

Corrected entry: When we see the Dean's phone contacts, they're suppose to be in alphabetical order, but "Aisha" comes after "Andres" and before "Annie." It should be before "Andres." And "Albino?" is after "Freckles."

Bishop73

Correction: On many phones you can reorder contacts to match the frequency with which you contact them.
