Thelma and Louise (1991)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Thelma calls Darryl when the phone is tapped and the living room is packed with police, she dials first and inserts money second. Then she hangs up and Louise calls again, and she now inserts money first and dials second. (01:23:35)

NancyFelix

Correction: What's the mistake? It is possible to dial before inserting the money. Just because she didn't dial first both times doesn't mean that the calls shouldn't have gone through.

Jane Doe

Corrected entry: When the Nautilus is about to sink Hyde dives down into the ship and opens a shutter at the bottom. Miraculously, the water flows out through the shutter instead of pouring in, as it does through all the holes made by Gray's bombs. (01:09:25)

NancyFelix

Correction: He doesn't open a shutter, he manually turns on the bilge pumps because the automatic switch was damaged by the bombs.

Gary O'Reilly

Corrected entry: When Andy makes his way through the sewer he takes Norton's clothes with him in a small bag tied to his ankle. It's hard to believe that on the next morning the same clothes are in clean mint condition when empties out Norton's accounts. (01:54:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: Andy probably ran a lot of errands that morning, including the cleaning of the Warden's suit. He very easily could have bought some street clothes, had the suit cleaned, and even picked out the convertible he wanted, all before visiting the banks to clean out the cash.

Matty Blast

Corrected entry: During the search for Andy a guard finds the rock hammer. While he is holding it up a reporter takes a photograph. In the picture the guard is holding the hammer in a totally different way than we had seen before. (01:48:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: The movie camera first shows the man holding the rock hammer, then moves to the photographer, who takes the picture a few seconds later. That's enough time for the man holding the rock hammer to switch positions.

Rain Man (1988)

Corrected entry: When Charlie sees a small-town doctor to get some advice how to deal with Raymond, the doctor asks Raymond to do some mathematical stunts. He multiplies 312*123 and 4343*1234 without thinking, which is unbelievable enough even for an autistic savant, but the square root of 2130 with 8 decimals after the dot, again without a bit of thinking, is certainly too much. (00:59:50)

NancyFelix

Correction: Raymond's abilities are exaggerated, but not as much as you think. See, for example, http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~changc/page2_5.html which describes a man who can give the square root of a 4 digit number in 4 seconds (although it doesn't say to what precision). In the film, Raymond thinks for 2 seconds or so about the square-root, so his skills are not that unbelieveable.

I Am Sam (2001)

Corrected entry: It is very, very unlikely that Lucy's foster parents wouldn't have found a way to prevent her from climbing down the creepers and toddling over to Sam's place in the wee hours of the morning again and again, thus most probably saving her life under any normal circumstances. (01:51:55)

NancyFelix

Correction: After several escapes, the foster parents put bars on Lucy's windows. Right after Lucy discovers this, she attempts to leave through the front door and Randy is waiting at the table with a snack for her.

Two Weeks Notice (2002)

Corrected entry: After the stapler fight George drags Lucy into the pantry by holding her at the arms. The camera cuts briefly to June, and when it's back on Lucy and George he is holding her around the waist and Lucy is wildly brandishing the stapler at June. It's theoretically possible but looks quite wrong. (01:19:45)

NancyFelix

Correction: It is theoretically possible, therefore it shouldn't be considered a mistake. George had plenty of time to move his hands down.

Bruce Almighty (2003)

Corrected entry: When Bruce arrives at work after being in the traffic jam he leaves the car window open. When he returns to the car after being fired the window is closed (and, therefore, can be smashed by the gang that beats him up). (00:08:40 - 00:18:15)

NancyFelix

Correction: Bruce went to the Maid of the Mist after the traffic jam, and he probably drove to get there. He would have had plenty of time to roll the window up.

Anger Management (2003)

Corrected entry: When Buddy and Dave go up to the upmost garage deck to get Buddy's car the most natural thing would have been that the elevator attendant waits for Buddy's car as this is the only way to get down. Instead he goes down. This, of course, is required for Buddy to push the car behind him down the elevator shaft. That the car lands on the ground and not on the roof of the elevator is another slip in this short sequence. (00:48:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: If you watch the elevator in the background you see that as it goes down it also goes across to the right of the screen. Therefore allowing the Lexus to fall completely to the ground. Also you can see where the ramp is in certain shots of the scene where they drive down.

Pleasantville (1998)

Corrected entry: When Margaret hands some cookies over to Bud the arrangement of cookies on the plate is different in close-up. The rather precarious pile must have been glued in some way otherwise it wouldn't have survived the handing over. (00:48:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: The magic of Pleasantville isn't totally broken yet, they didn't fall off because that's how it would have been done on the TV show. Just because they can't make perfect baskets anymore doesn't mean girls can't stack and pass perfect piles of cookies.

Corrected entry: When Joan and Jack emerge from the river on opposite banks they agree to meet at the hotel. Joan gets there first, and before Jack arrives too the kidnappers guide her to a different place to exchange the map for her sister. When exchange is interrupted by Zolo and his gang, Jack also shows up, although he should have had no idea where the exchange was to take place. (01:25:30)

NancyFelix

Correction: Zolo took Jack hostage and brought him to the exchange.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: The day after Rose got the diamond starts with a shot of the first-class deck. All of a sudden there's a large shadow moving along the outside of the board, and a little later another, even bigger one along the deck. (00:45:40)

NancyFelix

Correction: I always took these to be clouds. It makes sense, as the ship would be travelling under them, or possibly shadows from the smoke coming from the stacks.

Signs (2002)

Corrected entry: After Merrill kills the alien he comes out into the garden where Graham is trying to revive Morgan. There are huge pieces of broken panes in the upstairs windows which weren't there when Graham came out of the house a minute before. (01:34:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: No - the windows are consistent through both shots (the first and third broken, with the second being intact).

Signs (2002)

Corrected entry: When the policewoman talks to Graham before she drives off there is a very clear reflection of a crew member with a white t-shirt in the red light of the police car. (00:21:15)

NancyFelix

Correction: What looks like a t-shirt is the break in the overhanging tree's leaves. You can make out Mel Gibson's profile, though.

Nothing to Lose (1997)

Corrected entry: Nick and T. robbing a store at gunpoint for two flashlights (even that T. shoplifts two biker masks earlier) doesn't make sense as they had enough money from T's previous robbery. (00:56:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: Actually, they don't have the money that T stole from the previous robbery because Nick gave it to the gas station attendant for the $20 of gas, the shot gun, the phone that he ripped out of the wall and the sour fruity twist.

Corrected entry: Prissy is sent to get Dr. Meade to help with Melanie's delivery. When she returns and walks through the gate there is a dummy soldier standing on the sidewalk, probably a leftover from an earlier mass scene. (01:11:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: The dummy solder is actually a metal figurine used to tether horses.

Corrected entry: When Red gets released he is put up in the same room where Brooks had stayed 10 years earlier. When he scratches "So was Red" into the same beam the plaster pieces caused by Brooks's inscription are still lying on the table. (02:09:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: The pieces of plaster on the table were of Red's inscription, not Brook's. I believe they were there to show that Red had just left the room after doing the same actions as Brooks.

Titanic (1997)

Corrected entry: When Murdoch gives the order 'hard to starboard' the helmsman turns the wheel to port, consequently, the ship moves to the left and thus gets hit on the starboard side. The issue ISN'T that the wheel is spun to port instead of starboard (that's not a mistake - check the corrections section). The mistake is that the ship should NOT have turned in the direction the wheel was spun - it should have turned to starboard, in accordance with the order. (01:34:55)

NancyFelix

Correction: In every book, movie, documentary made about the Titanic that has and explains in detail the impact, the order has been hard starboard, with the wheel turned to the port, and the ship hitting the berg on the starboard side. The orders given in the movie are all correct. The evidence supporting this are transcripts of the inquiries into the sinking.

Those orders ARE historically accurate, but only after the ship hits. The first order is port, then hard starboard to swing the stern around. The order comes too soon in the movie.

Correction: No, it doesn't. It makes the sound of a glazed ceramic pipe being hit with a brick in a confined space. The sound was recorded on the set - an abandoned prison - as can be seen in the documentary "A Redeeming Feature".

Man on the Moon (1999)

Corrected entry: When people lose their hair due to cancer treatment they lose ALL their body hair. However, Andy keeps his eyebrows until he dies. (01:36:50)

NancyFelix

Correction: This is not true. People lose varying amounts of hair due to cancer treatment. Some lose no hair, some lose only their head hair, some lose all their body hair; it depends on the individual. Also radiotherapy often only induces hair loss in the area treated.
