The Hours (2002)

Corrected entry: When Laura leaves after dropping Richie at Mrs. Latch's she is seen driving in her car for quite a while. When the camera cuts to Richie running after her she is still much closer than she should be. (00:59:50)

NancyFelix

Correction: Mrs Latch's house is on a corner. Laura turns the corner in front of the house as she drives away. You can see in the background, through the windows of the car, that she's still relatively close to the boy as she makes this turn. He breaks away from Mrs Latch just as Laura completes the turn, making her still quite close to the house.

I Am Sam (2001)

Corrected entry: Sam moves into the neighborhood of Lucy's foster home to be closer to her. How does he cough up the money for all the move-related expenses? His lack of funds has been made a point of on several occasions. There is no hint that Rita helped him out, neither does the stage of their relationship at that point suggest that.

NancyFelix

Correction: Sam leaves his job at Starbucks to make more money at Pizza Hut. Sam's dog walking business is an additional form of income.

Corrected entry: When Rockoff takes a picture of Pran for his fake passport the view through the eyepiece shows a tiled wall that isn't there. (01:08:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: What appears to be tile is actually a grid pattern in the viewfinder of the Rolleiflex camera. If you look closely, you can see that the grid covers Pran's face and shirt, not just the wall.

Anna and the King (1999)

Corrected entry: In the scene in the market Anna seems to recognise Tuptim's boyfriend, who is planning to pass a message on to her, although she has no way of knowing him. (01:05:40)

NancyFelix

Correction: She doesn't recognize him as Tuptim's boyfriend. What she is noticing is that 'someone' is watching her, and watching her closely. (I venture that she is even thinks the 'someone' wants to talk to her but is afraid.) She then notices, after the boy gives her the note, that the 'someone' has mysteriously disappeared.

About Schmidt (2002)

Corrected entry: On his way out of the Woodmen building Warren sees his files ready for disposal. The way the boxes are stacked changes between shots: On the side where you saw three brown boxes among the white ones are now only white ones. (00:15:25)

NancyFelix

Correction: The first shot of the boxes is from the front, and you can see more of the brown boxes. The second shot is a view from the side of the stack, thus showing only the brown boxes that are on the end of the stack.

About Schmidt (2002)

Corrected entry: The degree of greyness of Warren's hair keeps changing throughout the movie. Usually, it's dark brown when when it's combed, and grey when it's messy, very significantly when he sits down at his desk on the morning after the retirement party. It looks as if they used different wigs for different degrees of tidiness. (00:10:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: Men usually wet their hair when they comb it back that way. It's possible it looks darker when combed because it's wet.

About Schmidt (2002)

Corrected entry: When Warren visits his fellow mobile homers and Vinnie, the wife, is talking about Warren being such a sad man, she is holding a pillow in her lap. When the camera angle changes the pillow is at her side. (01:03:45)

NancyFelix

Correction: The pillow is always at her side. The first angle is shot from her right, where the pillow and sofa arm are. The top edge of the pillow shows, but it's not on her lap.

The Green Mile (1999)

Corrected entry: It is strange that Edgecomb's team is on duty every time something happens in E block, day or night, as if they worked 24-hour shifts 7 days a week.

NancyFelix

Correction: The story is told through Tom Hanks' character. he tells of HIS experiances and the strange goings on when HE is working on the E block. he would be working more often as he seemed to be in charge of the block. Anything happening another time we just never see.

Corrected entry: Two general questions: How can iron cannonballs cause fiery explosions every time they hit just anything? And how is it possible that men slaughter each other with axes and knives but we hardly see a drop of blood?

NancyFelix

Correction: The "iron cannonballs" fired by the French troops into Fort Henry are not solid shot. The are mortar bombs - hollow shells filled with gunpowder and fitted with a slow burning fuse. Their tactical use in the siege is quite accurate.

The Ring (2002)

Corrected entry: In the archive of her newspaper Rachel has to stretch herself to get an old book from the top shelf. It falls out of her hands and disintegrates, looking more like a folder (in this shot also the way she is holding it changes), but when she sits down and studies the book is intact again. (00:42:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: There are two books that fall. One is large and is the one Rachel is seen looking through, the other thinner one is the one that disintegrates during its fall.

The Full Monty (1997)

Corrected entry: When the dress rehearsal is ended by the police, Lomper and Guy escape. However, the next day some girls recognise Guy while he is jogging, mentioning that he was in the paper with the others. (01:11:50)

NancyFelix

Correction: They put in pictures from the video, which Guy was in.

About Schmidt (2002)

Corrected entry: When Warren and Roberta sit in the makeshift Jacuzzi she reaches out and puts her hand on his knee. When the camera angle changes as he is making his escape, Roberta's arm is rested on the side of the pool as if she had been in this relaxed position already before. (01:37:10)

NancyFelix

Correction: In watching the Jacuzzi scene, Roberta's left arm is NOT on the ledge, after groping Warren's knee. It's not shown on the ledge again.

The Bodyguard (1992)

Corrected entry: In the scene in Frank's basement Rachel does some fake attacks with the sword. You hear the usual, movie-typical whizzing sounds which could be produced by a martial artist but not by the rather slow Rachel. (00:53:45)

NancyFelix

Correction: I have seen this film a few times and I was always under the impression that Rachel herself was making the whizzing sound, not that it was an added sound.

Rain Man (1988)

Corrected entry: Not too long after Charlie and Raymond leave Cincinnati by car they come across a bad accident. Raymond gets out of the car and refuses to continue driving on an interstate. According to a sign they are on interstate 245 WEST, which a) I couldn't find on a map in the Cincinnati area and b) shouldn't exist anyway as all interstates with odd numbers go in north-south direction. (00:48:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: In all U.S. cities "loops" (joined interstates that travel around the city are designated with a prefix "2"), often are listed as "west", "east", "north", or "south". This is to give the driver a general idea of which way the loop travels, and often change in transit. In major cities all joined interstates are listed with their direction.

Two Weeks Notice (2002)

Corrected entry: When George and Lucy leave their car in the traffic jam, in one of the cars they pass you see George's brother and sister-in-law. This amazing coincidence has no further significance in the plot as they were not with them at the tennis club, and must have been forgotten to get edited out. (00:56:35)

NancyFelix

Correction: Actually, George DOES say earlier that Howard offered to give June a lift home. So Howard being in the car does have significance in the plot because you can see June in the back seat. It was a company outing so of course Howard would be there.

Witness (1985)

Corrected entry: Near the end of the movie, before Rachel kisses John, you see a very un-Amish electric lamp that even dims while Rachel takes off her bonnet to prepare for the kissing. (01:25:40)

NancyFelix

Correction: This is incorrect: it's actually a gas lamp. In the VHS version, listen carefully to the sounds. Rachel turns it off, and the lamp hisses as the gas runs out and the light dims.

Corrected entry: Before Brooks hangs himself he scratches "Brooks was here" into a wooden beam. While he is doing that plaster pieces fall on the table he is standing on. (01:00:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: The lower part of the beam (the vertical poles, moulding, etc) is wood, but the upper part where Brooks (and later Red) carved their names *is* plaster, as you can see when Red first walks into the room towards the end of the movie.

Night on Earth (1991)

Corrected entry: It gives a very human touch, but it is hard to imagine that a licensed NY taxi driver wouldn't know how to drive or wouldn't know his way around the city at least a bit, even if he were of German origin and on his first day of work.

NancyFelix

Correction: You obviously have never ridden in a New York cab. If you happen to get a driver who 1) speaks English and 2) knows his way around properly, you can count yourself lucky. It is absolutely terrifying the sort of people they let loose in a Yellow Cab without any kind of credentials whatsoever.

Easy Rider (1969)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of their ride Wyatt and Billy come to a farm where two men shoe a horse. One guy holds the obviously cold horseshoe with his hand, hammers on it, and then nails it to the hoof. If he'd just refit it because the horse had just lost it he wouldn't hammer on it, and if it were a new one he would have to heat it till it's red hot. (00:13:10)

NancyFelix

Correction: Horse shoes are not always heated anymore, I have seen it done several times.

Sol Parker

Corrected entry: When Red goes to the hay field in Buxton to find the mysterious item Andy had told him about he uses a compass, even though Andy's directions didn't include any cardinal points. (02:05:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: Andy does use a cardinal point, he says the tree is on the north end of the wall.
