Salt (2010)

Corrected entry: When Salt goes back to her apartment, she picks up, from a tank, a small black spider and puts it in a sealed jar. Problem is: when she picked up the spider, she also picked up some shredded paper, but the spider in the jar is free of paper. She didn't have enough time to get rid of the paper, but it's gone.

kh1616

Correction: Actually she picks up one piece and it is shown to be in the jar later on too.

Shane (1953)

Corrected entry: When Shane has a punch-up with a bad guy in the saloon, Shane hits him twice in the face. When we see the bad guy's right fist, it has blood on it, but he hasn't hit Shane once.

kh1616

Correction: The bad guy has blood on his hand because Shane hit him in the face. The bad guy fell backwards all the way into Grafton's store. While he was on the floor he used his hand to wipe blood off his face. Then he walked back into the saloon and that's when they started throwing punches.

Pitch Black (2000)

Corrected entry: After Riddick has shaved his head, it is baby smooth, no stubble to be seen, but approximately 30 minutes later, he has stubble on his head and face, and as the film progresses (over a timespan of just a few hours), there's lots more stubble, lots more.

kh1616

Correction: It's called a five o'clock shadow for a reason. The stubble comes in fairly quickly. Not to mention the fact that Riddick is a Furyan, not an Earthling, and therefore his rate of hair growth is completely unknown.

Phixius

Corrected entry: When the brothers go into town to fetch brides, just before leaving, Adam says "Where's Benjamin?" All the brothers say they don't know, so they leave without him, but much later, when they have to be quiet to stop the avalanche, there's Benjamin and his woman. So how did he get onto the wagon with his woman?

kh1616

Correction: On the very far right of the screen right before they cut away, Benjamin throws Dorcas in the sleigh and jumps in. You may not see it if it's not in widescreen mode.

Man of Steel (2013)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, Jor-El climbs on board the back of a four-winged flying creature, and he says one word, "Up." And the creature, instead of going up, goes straight down.

kh1616

Correction: Jor-El does not say "up", he says "hup" which is a word commonly used to get various beasts of burden moving.

Phixius

Corrected entry: At the church, the priest says the bride's side is on the right, but when Bill arrives, the groom tells him the bride's side is on the left.

kh1616

Correction: The pastor actually just indicates with his hands that there is normally a "bride's side" and a "groom's side" - he does not specify which is which. When Bill comes in, it's the groom Tommy who points Bill to the "bride's side" on the left. *When the pastor indicates with his hands, he implies 'his left' but he is facing the pews; so 'the left' for someone entering the church is the side that Tommy points out.

Rosemary & Thyme (2003)

Three Legs Good - S3-E5

Corrected entry: When Rosemary & Laura take Holly, the dog, back to its owner, they arrive at the building, but Holly walks right past it, like she's never been there before. You think she'd know where she comes from.

kh1616

Correction: There is no mistake. Just because an animal doesn't behave like you think they should doesn't make it a mistake. There are many reasons Holly would walk past the building.

City Slickers (1991)

Corrected entry: At the very end, driving away from the airport, Billy Crystal calls his calf "Norman", which is his name, but then Billy calls him "Mitch", which is Billy's name.

kh1616

Correction: It's Barbara who calls out Mitch's name, not Mitch calling the calf the wrong name.

Chopper (2000)

Corrected entry: Near the beginning, Chopper is stabbed repeatedly in the abdomen. After about 5-6 stabs, he puts his hand around the knife-wielder's throat and says "Put the knife down and I'll let you go." The other guy says after dropping the knife, "Okay, I've dropped the knife, let go of me hands." But Chopper isn't holding his hands; he's holding his throat.

kh1616

Correction: Chopper only has one hand on Jimmy's throat, the other hand IS being held by Chopper. While Jimmy does use the plural, that's just his speaking style (the same way he says "me" instead of "my").

Aliens (1986)

Corrected entry: When Gorman is knocked unconscious, his eyes are open. Only dead people keep their eyes open; Gorman is in a deep sleep - he's not dead.

kh1616

Correction: This entry is completely wrong. Many people have been knock unconscious with their eyes open. And being unconscious is NOT a deep sleep (although I have witnessed people who sleep with their eyes open).

Cocoon (1985)

Corrected entry: When Jack, seeing the aliens for the first time, jumps overboard, he's wearing thongs (flip-flops), but when he comes back onboard, his feet are bare.

kh1616

Correction: Why don't you try swimming with flip-flops and see how well they stay on your feet. They are hard to keep on while swimming, so they could have easily fallen off.

Ghostbusters 2 (1989)

Corrected entry: Two of the Ghostbusters are examining their evidence, and one of them puts a picture of the man in the huge painting into a device similar to a photocopier. Problem is, the picture comes out the other end of the device before it has entirely finished going in.

kh1616

Correction: It's a spectral analyzer. Eagon also turns up the roentgens, a unit of measurement for radiation, which presumably makes the device more sensitive. It analyzed the spectral presence within the photograph and printed out a visual representation of that presence. The printout that discharged from the device has nothing to do with the original image that was actually photographed and fed into it, therefore the spectral analyzer does not need to scan the entire photographed image to create this facsimile of the spirit possessing the photographs. In other words, the machine was able to "see" the ghost and print out a picture of it before the entire photo had been scanned. Not out of the question at all, especially for completely fictional technology.

Phixius

It's a fascinating explanation that proves that you'd be great at writing sci-fi tech for a series or movie (I say it unironically, legit love the write-up), but I don't see any visual or conceptual hint in the movie that supports it? It looks like they feed a picture to a copier and the output comes out before the original picture has gone through the apparatus. Visually the photo rolling in is such a minor detail it's almost unnoticeable.

Rosemary & Thyme (2003)

And No Birds Sing - S1-E1

Corrected entry: When Rosemary gets onto her computer to look up "Withersedge", without touching the keypad, about ten sites appear on the screen. Then she types madly, but what's on the screen doesn't change. And then by magic, she finds the exact site they need - the one about Mrs Potts. And when she unplugs the computer so Laura can use the phone, while Laura is talking on the phone, Rosemary stares at the computer as if it's still on, but it isn't.

kh1616

Correction: Initially the screen is some kind of home portal, they aren't showing sites to do with 'Withersedge'. The search results appear after Rosemary types. Then, when the computer is unplugged, it's the internet cable which is unplugged and then the phone is plugged in. So Rosemary's computer would still be on and still showing the website they were reading - she just wouldn't be able to go to a new page.

Flight (2012)

Corrected entry: When Nicky comes home to smoke her drug, she parks her car behind the farthest car in the street. The gate to her apartment building is initially much farther away than when she gets out of her car and walks through it.

kh1616

Correction: You can see she parks her car so the back is just past the gate and walkway. When she gets out, she goes around the back of her car, right to the gate and walkway.

Flight (2012)

Corrected entry: When the film starts, the pilots have pieces of paper on the yoke in front of them, but when the emergency starts Whip's papers are no longer there.

kh1616

Correction: As the film shows, he takes that paper and puts it under his glasses to nap.

30th Nov 2013

Flight (2012)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the flight, Whip says to the co-pilot that he is heading for a black line - good weather - between two violent areas. Problem is: there is no black line.

kh1616

Correction: He says "sliver of black between those two ugly clouds." There is a negative space on the weather radar between the clouds, which he points to.

6th Jan 2014

Flight (2012)

Corrected entry: In the beginning in the hotel room, to wake himself up, Whip snorts a long line of cocaine. At first Whip is on the bed and the cocaine is on the bedside table, but when he finishes snorting the bedside table has moved away from the bed and Whip is now kneeling on the floor.

kh1616

Correction: There is no cocaine on the beside table - you can see that when he picks up his phone. Then, when he goes to snort, you can see him slide off the bed, past the bedside table (that has the lamp on it) to a second, black table.

After Earth (2013)

Corrected entry: When the son has been infected by an insect, his father tells him to inject himself with the clear liquid ampoule first, then the other one, but the son is blind, he can't see the difference between the two ampoules. Nevertheless, he injects himself with one, then the other, not knowing if it will work or not, and he doesn't tell his father he can't see.

kh1616

Correction: You said it yourself, he doesn't tell his father he can't see. So the dad doesn't know, or doesn't know he has gotten to that point yet. The father wouldn't be sure how long ago exactly the boy got bitten nor how long it would take for the poison to react to his particular anatomy. Thus he would be telling him by colors in hopes that he could still see them, and since the son didn't say he couldn't, naturally the father would assume he still could see. As to the son getting it right as far as which one in the right order, was all luck of the draw.

Oblivion (2013)

Corrected entry: When Tom goes to jump over a huge hole, he throws his torch/rifle away, but when he has crawled out of the hole (he nearly made it), the torch/rifle are with him again.

kh1616

Correction: Jack throws his rifle over the gap so he has a better chance of making the jump. He then picks it up on the other side.

Candyman (1992)

Corrected entry: When the bees start coming out of Candyman's mouth and when Candyman leans down to kiss Helen with the bees in his mouth, both actors are dummies some of the time and themselves some of the time, they come and go.

kh1616

Correction: The scene was shot for real with actors Tony Todd (Candyman) and Virginia Madsen (Helen), using actual bees. (The only "effect" involved was the use of a hidden mouth-guard for Tony Todd so that the bees would not go down his throat.) No dummies were used during the scene. In every shot, you can see some movement in the actor's faces (sometimes very subtle movements like eyes wincing slightly or cheeks moving), further proving this was done for real with the actors.
