Corrected entry: Near the end of the film, at the mansion, Wynona Ryder calls her ex-boyfriend Jeff, but his name is Jim.

kh1616

Correction: She says "Jim", I listened several times to make sure. Closed-caption even confirms this.

Psycho (1960)

Corrected entry: The film starts on a Friday. Marion, instead of putting the $40,000 in the bank, packs her bags, including the money, and drives away. She swaps her car for another one at a car yard. That night she sleeps in the car. So it is now Saturday. That night she plans to sleep at a motel, but is killed instead. So now it is Sunday. But the word is out that she stole the money, which they wouldn't have known until another day later, Monday, and after checking her room, and then checking the bank. Everything is preempted, by a full day. And no-one thinks that maybe she was murdered for the money; that she fought her robber/murderer, and is buried in the woods, weighed down and sunk in water. She's a good person, they all say that, but they all believe instantly that she stole the money.

kh1616

Correction: When talking to Sheriff Chambers the night of the day Lila first met Sam and Arbogast, Lila explicitly says that Marion "left Phoenix a week ago, yesterday".

Hellboy (2004)

Corrected entry: When Hellboy goes into the museum, he finds the entity and says "Hey, Stinky! You have six library guards raw, plus belts and boots." But the entity doesn't eat the belts and the boots; they're spread out on the floor with the clothes, only the bodies are eaten.

kh1616

Correction: And Hell boys holds up a half eaten boot. There fore "Stinky" ate 6 guards and boots. Just because he didn't finish the boots didn't mean he didn't eat them.

Hellboy (2004)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, the freak puts his coat behind him, as he watches the procedures around him, but in the next shot, the coat is around him, as before.

kh1616

Correction: The camera shows someone else before going back to the freak. Enough time to put the coat back.

The Aviator (2004)

Corrected entry: To make his planes go faster, Howard Hughes decided to take all the top wings off his biplanes, for the film "Hell's Angels." But when the film was played for the first time all the planes were biplanes; they all had the top wings.

kh1616

Correction: He took the top wing off a plane he wanted to build for speed tests. The Hell's Angels movie planes were biplanes, as he was making a movie about the dogfights in WWI which were, of course, biplanes.

The Edge (1997)

Corrected entry: The whole film is stupid. If they had stayed where they were, in an open area, to be seen easily, and with, say, 3/4 fires burning, to keep the bears (and other creatures) away and as signal fires, and near the water, so they can drink it and, with all of the above, they would have been found in 1/2 days. But then they wouldn't have a film, would they?

kh1616

Correction: The whole point of moving was to find a more likely search area. As it was, they were 20 miles away from where anyone thought they'd be. After that, they were being chased by the bear and did what they had to do to survive long enough to be found, regardless of where it took them.

Corrected entry: Ellis says he'll take Jenny out to dinner tomorrow. When they meet, he shows her the remains of a buried ship from the gold rush days. Then, when Ellis says they should eat, Jenny says she can't because she only gets an hour for lunch. Lunch? What happened to dinner?

kh1616

Correction: Ellis didn't ask Jenny for dinner, he asked to take her out tomorrow, to somewhere she had never been before; and that was during the day - lunchtime. But, to be fair, we didn't know it was lunch until Jenny said she only got an hour for lunch and all that time had been taken up, seeing the boat.

Orpheus in the Undergrowth - S2-E2

Corrected entry: Rosemary finds a bottle of Betabuse in Marcia's medicine cabinet. Betabuse, Rosemary tells Laura, is for alcoholics, who, while taking Betabuse and alcohol will throw up. Eventually, the alcoholic learns to equate drinking with vomiting. Jeremy, Marcia's husband and the alcoholic, is found dead from a heart attack. Marcia is arrested for killing him, because she (1) made him mushroom soup, using smooth ink cap mushrooms, which have the same ingredients as Betabuse, then (2) replaced the water from his water bottle as he went jogging with vodka. The police say Marcia hoped that when he took a swig of water and got Vodka instead, after eating the soup, it triggered a heart attack - now, yes, Jeremy had a "dodgy ticker", but throwing up is a far cry from dying from a heart attack.

kh1616

Correction: This is a real thing and not exaggerated. The drug "disulfiram" does cause a reaction to alcohol consumption such as vomiting and nausea and used for chronic alcoholics. However, disulfiriam has been known to cause myocardial infractions (heart attacks). This is simply what happened to Jeremy.

Rebecca (1940)

Corrected entry: Maxim tells his wife that he carried Rebecca's dead body to the boat from the dinghy and he carried her below to the cabin floor. It is hard enough to get yourself out of a dinghy and onto the "sailboat" (as it is known) and then down the narrow stairs to the cabin. Carrying a bag of groceries only adds to the problem. But a dead woman - impossible.

kh1616

Correction: This is speculation at best, some people might not have a problem carrying groceries down narrow stairs and many people (like firemen) are trained, strong enough, or just determined, to carry a body. Nothing about his statement is impossible.

Goldfinger (1964)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, James has a fight with a man and he throws him into a bath filled with water. Then James throws the electric fan into the bath, which electrocutes the man. Problem is: The electrocution should have killed the lights, or at least made them flicker, but they do nothing of these.

kh1616

Correction: It depends what circuit the lights are on and the outlet. There's a number of reason why the lights wouldn't go out (meaning the breaker was tripped) or flicker.

Alien 3 (1992)

Corrected entry: In the credits - and the warden says it - they mention chromosome YY, or double YY. But that is impossible; women are XX and men are XY; you have to have an X chromosome, sometimes you can have XXY, and maybe there are other variations, but there must be an X, no matter what.

kh1616

Correction: XYY chromosomes in human males is quite common and is usually referred to as YY syndrome (though it isn't really a syndrome, medically speaking). They are using medical shorthand. Nothing unusual about that. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XYY_syndrome.

This explanation is incorrect. The warden is using "Double Y" as shorthand for "male" and not referring specifically to any medical conditions the inmates might have. He is discussing the fact that a woman entering the facility full of violent men is problematic. The dialogue is incorrect as it assumes that females are "Double X" and males are "Double Y" when in fact males would be "XY", as the original entry states.

Charade (1963)

Corrected entry: Audrey is eating at an outdoor restaurant on the ski fields. A very annoying child, wearing black gloves, aims a water pistol shaped like a gun at Audrey; before he shoots, the gun is in his right hand, but when he does shoot, the gun is now in his left hand.

kh1616

Correction: If you go through the scene and pause it, you'll see that the toy gun is in the boy's left hand the whole time. The gun is pointing to the right and you can see the boy's fingers curved around the handle and trigger the whole time.

G.I. Jane (1997)

Corrected entry: When Jordan has a drink with her crew at the bar, before she goes into the ladies, she has a bandage around her right hand, and in the ladies she has the same bandage, but when she comes out, the bandage is gone.

kh1616

Correction: If I was in a bar and wanted to take a bandage off, I'd go to the bathroom to do it too. The bandage doesn't reappear so there's no continuity error.

Salt (2010)

Corrected entry: Near the beginning, when Salt goes to her apartment, the agents chasing her throw canisters of gas and explosives into her apartment before going in themselves. But wouldn't the explosives blow the windows out, not in? Shards of glass are seen coming in through the windows and covering items on the inside - lots of them.

kh1616

Correction: This is a common error. Glass goes towards the point of impact when a window is smashed. I'm unsure exactly why this happens but I do know that forensic teams use this to identify people breaking and entering or causing criminal damage because most of the glass ends up on the perpetrator at the point of impact. I just watched a documentary on it.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

Corrected entry: When Don Cheadle gets out of a car filled with men, he takes a pump action gun and pumps it, then a man takes the gun and also pumps it - pointless after Don already did it - which would mean an unused shell should have been ejected, but it wasn't.

kh1616

Correction: There is a scene showing a shotgun pumped twice, however the shell does eject. But, there is no scene remotely close to what you describe occurring with Don Cheadle (Iron Patriot). Please clarify when it occurs.

Thunderball (1965)

Corrected entry: James is dancing with a woman when he notices a gun aimed at him. As the music's beat grows and grows, at the final drumbeat, James turns the woman around so she gets the bullet in the back. The only way we can see she is shot is when James moves his fingers away and blood dribbles out, but since James' fingers cover the bullet hole, his fingers should have been shot, as well.

kh1616

Correction: It is quite possible for James to cover the wound with his fingers so the other party goers don't see the wound then turn her around and place her in the seat.

Correction: Bond was holding her a bit lower on her back when dancing. She slipped lower when shot, and Bond's hand moved up over the wound.

Aliens (1986)

Corrected entry: If an alien creature comes from an implanted human, there would only be as many creatures as humans, but there are far too many aliens. Remember the tunnels with the automatic machine guns? Those guns, supposedly, killed hundreds of aliens.

kh1616

Correction: The aliens were bred from the implanted inhabitants of the colony. There were plenty of them to supply the amount of aliens seen.

Correction: There's a lot of overkill from the sentry guns as they simply fire whenever they detect movement and are unable to account for size, etc. Note that the guns fire multiple rounds just to take out the single empty canister thrown in front of them for a test. So the sentry guns having fired hundreds of rounds doesn't mean they've taken out hundreds of aliens.

Pacific Rim (2013)

Corrected entry: Near the end, the boss and the Japanese girl are standing, facing each other: When we get the shot of the boss, even though he is much taller than her, they are at the same height, and when we get the shot of the girl, the boss towers over her.

kh1616

Salt (2010)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, Salt has her long plait positioned over her shoulder, but when she attempts to leave the building, the plait is in the middle, running down her back.

kh1616

Correction: It's not a big deal with plaited hair. She could have just swung the plait over her shoulder. It is hard to see if it's plaited over her shoulder or straight in the beginning so she could've just liked to put it over one shoulder and when she started running where it was didn't matter anymore.
