Correction: If you do much turning of the wheel while driving in a straight line, you're doing it wrong.

Not like in the western where it appears to move constantly.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: To speak to each other when they are out of the range of hearing each other, they have communication devices around their necks and they press it when they want to talk. But quite a few times sometimes they use it and sometimes they don't, eg, when Jake goes out with Sigourney in the helicopter, as Avatars, Jake wanders off and Sigourney speaks to him through the communications device, but later, when they are the same distance apart, she just talks to him normally.

kh1616

Correction: He's within hearing range, so choosing whether or not to use the radio isn't really a mistake.

Rosemary & Thyme (2003)

The Memory of Water - S2-E1

Corrected entry: When Eddie turns up in his truck, looking for the hammer that killed Jim, Laura initially goes to the left-hand side of the truck, but, suddenly, in the next shot, she's on the right-hand side of the truck.

kh1616

Correction: Laura doesn't turn up on the left-hand side of the truck; she goes to the right-hand side first.

kh1616

Corrected entry: When Buffalo Bill is using his infra-red goggles on his next victim - the Senator's daughter - she's driving, and she drives the car straight at Buffalo Bill before turning the car into her carapace. Problem is: when using infra-red, you can't have light on the glasses, as in headlights; it should have blinded him, and he would have torn them off. But he doesn't.

kh1616

Correction: It would have blinded him, yes, but only temporarily and only because the display would have been washed out and blocking his view effectively turning the goggles into a blindfold for a brief moment. It's just a monitor in there and it only gets so bright. It doesn't actually enhance the light, it only shows you an image that simulates enhanced light. There was no reason for Bill to have torn his goggles off.

Phixius

Corrected entry: Lisbeth drops her keys while visiting Miriam in hospital; Mikael, who Miriam gives them to, says they are from a Post Office Box, and that's how he finds out where Lisbeth lives, by emptying her Post Office Box. But those keys don't have the location of the Post Office or the number of the box attached to the key; that's why people use them - for privacy and safety.

kh1616

Correction: Mikael is the kind of guy who really would go from post office to post office, box to box, until he found the one the key unlocked. He is an investigative journalist, that's the kind of thing he does all the time to get to the bottom of a mystery.

Phixius

Corrected entry: While Lisbeth is being buried alive, you can see a hole in the dirt near her face, so the actress playing her can breathe. The hole isn't completely covered over; the camera pans away.

kh1616

Correction: The camera pans away before the shoveling is done. So there's a hole when last we see, but since they're not done burying her at that point, this isn't a mistake.

Phixius

Corrected entry: One of the men who is against Lisbeth and wants her dead says "She has to be convicted of shooting Zalachenko." But she didn't shoot him; she hit him twice with an axe.

kh1616

Correction: Yes, but Zalachenko got shot shortly thereafter, and they want Lisbeth to take the fall for it.

Alien (1979)

Corrected entry: Ripley has just seen Lambert and Parker dead, she has set the ship to destruct, so why does she go to the lower deck? The only reason is to show us, the viewers, Dallas and Brett still alive and cocooned and to show us the sticky secretion on the wall, which we see more of in "Aliens."

kh1616

Correction: After setting the destruct sequence, Ripley realized that Jones, the cat, was being left behind. She went back to find him. That's when she discovered the two other crew members, although that scene had been cut in the original theatrical release.

Flight (2012)

Corrected entry: When Nicky comes home, her door is broken into and the building manger is inside, saying he has every right to be there. Well, if he does, as building manager, wouldn't he have a key and so no have need to smash the door in?

kh1616

Correction: There is no evidence that he "smashed the door in". When Nicky gets to the door she goes to unlock it and notices it is not completely closed and opens the door to show the manager inside. There is no broken frame or debris on the floor to support that he used force to gain entry.

Julie & Julia (2009)

Corrected entry: "Mrs Joy" says she got the money to pay a publisher for her cook book from the life insurance money from her husband, but the husband committed suicide, shooting himself in the head - you can't claim life insurance when the person commits suicide.

kh1616

Correction: Some life insurance policies don't exclude suicide. They are all different. I have seen ones that require you to die in a hospital and not a home or nursing home.

Alien 3 (1992)

Corrected entry: One of the prisoners says there's no freezers for ice cream, but in the morgue, when the girl's drawer is opened, you can plainly see the vapour that comes from a freezer; they could easily keep the ice cream and lots of other goodies in the morgue freezers.

kh1616

Correction: Morse doesn't say they have no way to store ice cream, he says they don't have any ice cream full stop. There isn't any ice cream on the planet, irrespective of the fact they have freezers in the morgue.

Sphere (1998)

Corrected entry: In the beginning, we are shown a sort of picture of the alien ship and all the coral that covers it, that's how they know how old it is, but when we see the ship for real, there's hardly any coral on it. Yes, the coral was supposed to have been blown away, so they can get in and out, but they wouldn't have blown all the other coral away - they could have damaged the ship. And yet, there is the enormous ship, clean of coral.

kh1616

Correction: The cleaned the coral off the entire ship, careful not to damage it, so that they could get an unobstructed visual of the exterior.

Arbitrage (2012)

Corrected entry: About halfway through, Richard Gere bursts into a man's office and locks the door behind him. But when he leaves, he doesn't unlock the door; he just turns the handle and the door opens.

kh1616

Correction: That's not a mistake. Most lockable doors in work places open the lock automatically when the handle on the lock side is turned.

Three Legs Good - S3-E5

Corrected entry: Mr Allbright said Mr Volker walked Holly for him because he operates in the morning. But after Volker is killed, Mr Allbright is seen walking Holly in the morning - what happened to his story of operating in the mornings?

kh1616

Correction: It said Mr Allbright was walking his dog in the morning, but it's not morning anymore; it's the afternoon; 12.45pm precisely.

Jaws (1975)

Corrected entry: Quint repeatedly calls the shark Orca, but an Orca is a killer whale, not a shark, something a shark expert should know.

kh1616

Correction: Quint is actually saying "porker".

Scottie

Correction: That is correct. "Porkers Mr. Hooper. Are you talking Porkers?" Porkers is apparently slang for Great White Sharks. Use of the slang adds to Quint being an experienced old salt of the sea.
