Continuity mistake: While Zeb and Cody are on their fishing outing we see that Zeb is wearing white long sleeve thermals under his grey/black shirt. When Reckless starts barking at the catfish, Zeb and Cody head into the water then both men fall in, and Zeb now has red long sleeves under his grey/black shirt, which is presumably a wet suit the older actor is wearing for this wet stunt. Starring: Eric Scott, Jon Walmsley, Judy Norton, Mary Beth McDonough
Factual error: When Elizabeth asks Zeb how Vanessa can be happy, Zeb has his old catalog with a bunch of flower seed packets on his lap, and as they both hold up the packets, particularly Elizabeth, the modern Universal Product Codes are at the back of the packets. The UPC did not exist until many years later. (00:10:05)

Trivia: While Maggie MacKenzie and John-Boy are at the Mermaid Restaurant, when they both dance together Maggie envisions her long deceased husband, Michael MacKenzie, dancing with her instead of John-Boy. It is Earl Hamner Jr. who portrays Michael MacKenzie in this uncredited onscreen cameo during the scene (note teeth and facial features are identical).
