Answer: It's not unusual for kids and teens to prefer a chosen nickname. As a kid, I had more than one classmate named Elizabeth who wanted to be called Liz or Lizzy.

Answer: They may have quit because they experienced lingering fear and anxiety after eating the soup, regardless of whether they remembered anything. As everyone was only limited to one bowl of the soup, Vink fired anyone he caught trying to have more. Some employees may have quit out of frustration over the restriction. It also serves the plot to have different characters experiencing the effects of eating the soup.

The Tale of the Dangerous Soup - S3-E13

Question: A bowl of the soup costs $100. When a couple wants to order second servings, Jersey says there is a limit of one per customer. This does not make sense when Dr. Vink is trying to operate a successful restaurant. Jersey, a server, is probably hoping to get a tip. It would just be good business to let customers spend another $200 on soup if they wanted. Did I miss something?

Answer: The other answer here, about too much soup being potentially harmful, is basically correct. When Dr. Vink tells Nonnie and Reed about the secret of the soup, he says that a drop of the elixir can "make the pulse quicken and blood flow." In addition to that, setting a limit can make the soup seem more luxurious and exclusive.

Answer: If I remember this episode, although it's been almost 30 years, the soup caused the heart to race so a second bowl may be dangerous to consume.

Question: Is Dr Vink a villain? In the episodes he's in, he always seems to put innocent people in danger.

Answer: I think of him as an antihero. He can be nice and helpful at times, but he usually has ulterior motives.

Answer: Maybe she just doesn't like Vicky.

Question: Does anybody know of a website that will allow me to watch all the episodes of "Are You Afraid of the Dark"? I've found my favorite episode on some websites, but it's not an episode that is viewable. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

The Tale of the Mystical Mirror - S5-E3

Plot hole: It makes no sense that Ms. Valenti gives all of her employees a compact mirror and also invites them to her home. Any of them could open their mirror while standing near a painting of Ms. Valenti and they would discover the secret, as Cindy does.

Suggested correction: She isn't concerned about employees seeing her true reflection because she was planning to capture three of them at her home anyway and transform them into dogs for the ritual. Presumably, if she had finished the ritual - and she almost did - she would keep her youthful appearance and no longer look older in mirrors.

Suggested correction: The compact mirror includes a palette of cosmetics. Cindy shows it to Laurel, who says, "She gave one to me, too, like we're ever gonna use it." Presumably, the employees are mostly using the free samples of cosmetics from the shop displays. I myself have owned some compacts that I didn't always want in my purse (if they were too big or awkward in a certain purse).
