Factual error: 1968: The basement's brick wall crumbles to reveal Trask's skeleton hanging in the alcove. Only it shouldn't be. Bodies do not remain assembled once the flesh and sinew are gone. Trask's remains ought to be a large pile of bones on the floor.

Factual error: 1966: Ohrbach's, the fashion house that supplied Dark Shadows with costumes throughout its run, suffered the indignity of seeing its name misspelled as "Orhbach's" in many of the 1966 credit crawls.

1897: Quentin challenges Barnabas by pulling a decorative sword from a wall display and pointing it at his throat. Unfortunately, the display wasn't all that well attached to the set wall. Though the camera pans away, you can hear a loud clunk as the piece falls, followed by the loud crash of shattering glass as it strikes and breaks a table lamp. You can also see the actors struggling very hard to keep straight faces as they continue with their lines.

Trivia

Exteriors for Collinwood were shot at what was then known as "Seaview Terrace" in Newport, Rhode Island. Now known as the Carey Mansion, the building has recently been made accessible for group events, and now hosts an annual gathering of Dark Shadows fans.
