The Grim Reaper Wears a Teflon Coat - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: When Tony Stark is suiting up after discovering how the Mandarin stole the Grim Reaper, he is doing so in his armory, which is a cylindrical room several stories tall. When he steps into his armor however, he is now in a lab area surrounded by equipment (as usual, the shot of him stepping into his armor is recycled from the show's Season 1 intro). Enemy Within, Enemy Without - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: When Tony is going over battle plans with the rest of the team, Hawkeye's gloves alternate between being entirely blue and having a square section missing from them in which the back of his hand is visible, which itself alternates between being on one glove or the other. Enemy Within, Enemy Without - S1-E6

Revealing mistake: Shortly after MODOK has infiltrated Iron Man's lab, we see a shot of the entire complex from the outside, and it has water enclosed around some of its perimeter. None of the water is oscillating or rippling, despite being shown to be draining to a lower area in one enclosure, and surrounding silos in another enclosure. (00:08:13)

Answer: Gleaned from the Internet: Some critics criticized the premise of so many one-off battles that were introduced and concluded within one or two episodes. Others felt the first-season plot lines were overly simplistic and never progressed or developed through the season. Also, the rivalry between Iron Man and the Mandarin also failed to capture viewer's attention.
