Corrected entry: John A. Janovec, an American soldier is shown in this and the last episode. As shown in the titles, this episode takes place from March 11 to sometime in late April. Yet, John A. Janovec died on February 26, 1945.

The Patrol - S1-E8
Corrected entry: When Webster reports back to Easy Company, he asks about Sgt. Malarkey. Someone tells him that Malarkey was being made a Lieutenant and that he's on the "fast track". However, Sgt. Lipton was the noncom promoted to Second Lieutenant. Malarkey remained a sergeant.
Correction: Try watching a bit closer. In practically the next scene, Lt Jones congratulates Malarkey on his promotion, only to be corrected. Clearly an example of a character mistake, and an intentionally scripted one at that.

Corrected entry: In the attack on Carentan when they start clearing the buildings, they send Tipper and Liebgott to check a pharmacy. Tipper is carrying a bazooka on his back. When they have checked it, Liebgott leaves, but Tipper lingers behind to check a shack in the backyard. When he is about to leave the store, it is hit by artillery. As he walks out of the pharmacy a couple of seconds later, the bazooka on his back has disappeared. (00:18:05)
Correction: Given the violence of the explosion, it seems quite likely that it could have broken the narrow strap (visible as Tipper enters the building) holding the bazooka onto his back.

The Patrol - S1-E8
Corrected entry: In 'The Last Patrol', Webster is chosen to go on The Patrol because he can speak German. In the next episode, 'Why We Fight', when he pulls a gun on the German baker, another soldier has to translate for him.
Correction: Webster understands the baker perfectly, he just doesn't particularly care about any excuses that the man might have. The other soldier is trying to get Webster to back off by emphasizing what the baker is saying to him.

Crossroads - S1-E5
Corrected entry: When Winters shoots the SS kid at the start of the episode, we see a close-up of his face and gun and when he shoots we can see the bayonet on the end of his gun wobble as if it was made of rubber.
Correction: The bayonet is wobbling back and forth, yes, but this is due to the slightly loose joint attaching it to the gun - if you look carefully, the bayonet itself isn't bending in any way, it's just moving slightly around its joint.

Correction: Online sources claim two different death dates for Janovec, some the February date that you cite, others the May date as depicted in the show. As the book and TV series are specifically based on the recollections of those who were present at the time, as recounted in many interviews, both with the original author and subsequently the film crews, it seems reasonable to suggest that the May date is likely to be the more accurate one, particularly as Janovec's death, so late in the war and after the end of hostilities, would be likely to stick in the mind.

I've read the extremely well detailed and informative book by Ambrose about Easy Company and there's no mention of an early 1945 death of Janovec at all so the latter date is more likely. The original men who gave accounts never mentioned his death and the place where he was eventually killed fits in with the units timeline history.
