Suggested correction: These are mirror spires, a reflective surface. It's not a mistake.
It was confirmed to be a mistake in rendering. The "mirror spires" was made up to try and excuse the error.
No, the director actually said that this was a planet that shows reflections. Because you can see the towers reflected.

Corrected entry: The scars on Kylo's face have almost disappeared in this film without explanation.
Correction: His scar fades on screen when Rey heals him on the Death Star. As she heals the wound in his stomach, she also heals the wound she gave him the year before in The Force Awakens. It's an intentional detail.
