Continuity mistake: After Pee-Wee loses the Warner Bros. security crew on his tail, he sees a burning pet shop and decides to rescue the animals inside. Take a look at the early '80s red and black Chevy Suburban parked by the entrance. Whenever Pee-Wee runs outside, the amount of sunlight cast on the vehicle changes (sometimes lots of light, very little light or none at all) as though the scene were filmed at different parts of the day, then pieced together. Continuity mistake: In front of the AM radio station downtown where Pee-Wee and Dottie are busy posting a $10,000 reward sign, the amount of red tape applied to the sign, especially the top, changes between shots. (00:25:40)

Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the movie, when Pee-Wee's breakfast contraption is running, if you look closely at the "orange" that is being squeezed, it is really an orange coloured sponge ball. (00:05:10)

Visible crew/equipment: Near the beginning of the film, when Pee-Wee unveils his beloved bicycle for the first time by disabling his elaborate garage security system, if you look carefully, a crew member's foot can be seen moving away as the garage door is opened. (00:08:45)

Visible crew/equipment: Near the end of Pee-Wee's chase scene at the Warner Bros. studios, he activates a launch mechanism on his bike and soars over a barb wire fence onto a roof. As he shouts "Geronimo," there is a crew member on the lower right hand side of the screen sporting a pair of sunglasses in front of a platform just staring towards the camera for a few seconds (best viewed on the matted widescreen DVD release). Continuity mistake: When P.W. is escaping certain trouble somehow his handle bar comes off (with ribbons) a new one is replaced (without ribbons) - cool bike huh? But in the next scene the new handle has ribbons... (01:13:00)
