Question: Why was Alejandro referred to as "de la Vega"? This was Elena's surname and it would seem unlikely that Alejandro would have taken his wife's name rather than her taking his.

Continuity mistake: In the scene after the father has announced the move to New York he walks into the next room and the mother brings him a thin slice of cake. In the next shot, the slice of cake is much thicker.
