The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: When Sophie gets out of the back of the armored truck, she is not carrying anything and, again, as she is running along the side of the armored truck to get into the passenger's side, we see both hands and she isn't carrying anything. A couple of scenes later, as she and Robert walk up the steps to Chateau Villet, she is carrying her gray overcoat and handbag. They can be seen even better when Teabing is kissing her hand in welcome.

Suggested correction: They would have been left in the back of the truck and after escaping easily retrieved before arriving at the chateau.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: When Robert, Sophie, Leigh, Remy and Silas are racing for Leigh's airplane, their vehicle's front windshield is hit by a branch and cracks. The large, branched crack is seen in another shot. But later shots of the vehicle on the way to the plane show no crack in the windshield.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: When Robert is trying to convince Teabring not to call the police, he takes the keystone box out of his jacket pocket and holds it up for Teabing to see. In the shot of the box in Robert's hand with Teabing looking at him, the rose is facing towards Robert. As the camera position switches to focus on Robert holding the box, the rose is now facing towards Teabing.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: When Vernet slams the door of the armored car, we see the brass bullet casing deformed, flattened on one side. We next see the bullet casing (must be same one since Vernet has not yet fired the gun again) on some flat surface with no apparent damage. If the deformed side had been facing away from the camera, the casing would have been lying at an angle because when the door crushed in the side, it was almost half way in. No way can this be the same casing.

Continuity mistake: When Frances is 'spherically' pulling ivy from the outside walls of her villa, she drops a branch behind her just as she see the snake and says, "Oh, my God." The shot changes from her face to the snake slithering over a window sill into her kitchen. As this shot pulls back and moves up to show more of Frances, we see that she now, once again, has a large branch in her hand.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: When Sophie is backing away from the American Embassy, she shoots through the small gap between the trucks, Robert's rear view mirror is knocked off and then the car slams into a pole, bending it completely over when she stops. As she drives away there is no dent, no mark, no sign whatsoever that the rear of her car has been touched.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: When Robert and Sophie are inside the bank, we see a bird's eye view of the key on the edge of the table with the chain's sides next to each other with no space anywhere along the entire circle. This shot is just before Vernet comes in to introduce himself. He walks toward Sophie who is behind a table with a chair also between her and Vernet. Right after Vernet says that first-time users are sometimes uncertain of protocol, we see a close-up of him taking the key off the table. First, he could not have reached the key from where he was in the previous shot, plus he is at a different angle to the key and table when he takes the key than in the previous shot. Second, when he does take the key, the chain is in a different position and has separated so that there is a space between the two sides at the top of the curve and at the top of the key. (00:42:40)

Continuity mistake: Near the beginning, at Princess Mia's birthday ball, we see a man in the purple and gold palace attire serving champagne on a tray downstairs. The next shot in the scene has Queen Clarisse introducing Princess Mia and then we see two men dressed in purple and gold ready to open the doors for Princess Mia's entrance - but one of the two men is the same man, who just seconds ago, was downstairs serving champagne.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Continuity mistake: After Vernet shoots over Robert's and Sophie's heads in the back of the armored car, the bullet casing lands on the floor. Robert kicks it with his shoe until it lands in a crevice of the door way but it is not next to anything, nothing on either side of it in the crevice. When Vernet tries to slam the door shut, the casing is now right up next to the other door which is shown as the camera pans straight down the edge of the closed door until it shows the bullet casing be smashed by the door Vernet is trying to close. National Treasure (2004)

Continuity mistake: The Declaration of Independence in the clear plastic cover keeps changing colors from brown to white and back. When Ben puts it in the very first time while in the elevator, it is brown. When Ian gets the case out of the street after Abigail loses it, it is white. It is back to brown in the church.

Twister (1996)

Continuity mistake: When Bill and Melissa go out to get the divorce papers from Jo, we see Bill pull his truck up with Rabbit and Allan's truck (hood up) in the background. We see it closer up when Bill asks Dusty, "Where's Jo?" But when the scene comes back to Bill and Dusty and then shows Melissa, Rabbit, Allan and the truck have disappeared. When Dusty is holding Melissa's hand and walking to sit in his chairs, Rabbit & co. are in the background again.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Nicholas asks if he can help Princess Mia with her archery, he has her take her stance, then says to lower her elbow. We see Nicholas reach up to put his hand on her shoulder (his right hand is seen through Mia's forearm and shoulder because her elbow is still up so high). Nicholas then says anchor her right hand to her mouth, to touch her mouth. Then he says to relax her hand on the bow as he reaches up to put his left hand around her bow hand. We then see Nicholas reaching up to put his right hand on Mia's shoulder again but this time we see it over the top of her forearm because her elbow has been lowered considerably.

Continuity mistake: The scandal video that Elsie shows is not consistent with what the man in the boat with a video camera could have really shot because of the length of time he ducks down into the boat and then is seen sitting up and then bringing out his video camera and supposedly "starts" shooting. If he was shooting before he ducked down and then reappeared, there would be a big gap of Princess Mia waking and sitting up and looking at Nicholas and then at the cameraman and then back at Nicholas. If he didn't start shooting until we actually see him raise the camera up, then the video replay in Princess Mia's room couldn't have had everything on it that is shown.

Continuity mistake: When Princess Mia and Andrew are running after her scarf at the seashore, we see Brigitte and Brigitta also running after the scarf, just as Mia says, "I've got it." But as soon as Andrew and Mia grab the scarf, the next shot shows Brigitte and Brigitta facing the opposite direction and holding parasols, standing behind Andrew's parents.

Continuity mistake: When Mia takes the chicken out of the basket and it gets loose, we see the chicken run away, followed by Mia running after the chicken, and finally the palace guard falling amid a number of boxed, gift-wrapped presents. The only boxed presents that were visible in any of the previous shots were already on the floor, and there were none anywhere close to the palace guard that he could have knocked down as he fell.

Sheri Hartman

Continuity mistake: In the chicken scene, as we see Tiny starting to hand the chicken in a basket to Princess Mia, in the background are Brigitte and Brigitta. They are behind the palace guard and to the left of Charlotte and the housekeeper. When we hear Princess Mia say, "May I?", the scene show Charlotte (and the housekeeper) but now Brigitte and Brigitta are behind Charlotte.

Continuity mistake: When the newly engaged royal couple is presented to the Genovian public, they walk out onto a balcony between two royal palace horn players. Just as the royal couple begins to wave, the horn players lower their horns. The view is switched to a long shot of the front as the royal couple is waving and the horns are back up. They remain up near the players mouths for the rest of the scene even though they don't play anymore.

Continuity mistake: When Viscount Mabrey and Nicholas are at Mabrey's home, plotting Nicholas' next move, Mabrey is sitting on a sofa with his legs crossed at the knee and a magazine is across his lap. Mabrey's right hand is holding the top of the magazine. Mabrey points his left index finger at Nicholas and asks if he remembers who his father named him after. The shot switches to Nicholas saying that he was named after Grandfather Nicholas. It then goes immediately back to Mabrey starting to get up but now, in just a second or two, Mabrey's feet are both on the floor and the magazine is folded up and held in his right hand.

Sheri Hartman

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Nicholas is telling his uncle that he was wrong, that Princess Mia has found a suitable husband within a week, the scene shows Viscount Mabrey pulling down his vest and then adjusting his tie with his left hand. His hand is still up on his tie when the shot switches to Nicholas saying, "a husband within a week." The shot switches immediately back to Mabrey and his left hand is down to his side and not even visible. Don't think he could be in that pose so quickly.
