Christine (1983)

Corrected entry: In 1958, Plymouths could be ordered with radios (as was Christine in the movie). However, radio technology at that time still used vacuum tubes and vacuum tubes take time to warm up. Transistor (solid state) radios require no warm up time and produce audio instantly when turned on, but transistor radios were not used in cars until the early 60's. Typically, vacuum tube radios takes approximately 5-10 seconds for audio to be heard after the radio is turned on. In the assembly line scene (as well as later scenes), the radio is turned on and music is heard instantly but this is simply not possible with a vacuum tube radio.

Correction: The car is possessed. Evil doesn't follow any rules.

Apart from the tagline of the movie, we are not given any indication Christine is possessed by an external force. She was born evil and sentient.

Jukka Nurmi

Correction: Arnie cobbled the car together with parts from Darnell's wrecking yard. Also, there are a number of companies that make modern electronic radios with the face plates of the original car for car restorers.

The car radio came on the instant it was turned on on the assembly line in 57. It played Buddy Holly, Not fade away.

Gandhi (1982)

Corrected entry: At approximately one hour into the film, Gandhi is shown wearing wire rimmed glasses with round lenses. At approximately the two hour point, the lenses now have a bi-focal segment that is a half circle in the lower section of the round lens. The addition of bi-focal lenses is consistent with the aging process, since the eyes can no longer focus on nearby objects. With bi-focal lenses, the lower portion of the lens is used for reading and the upper portion of the lens is used for distance. However, in subsequent scenes, Gandhi's glasses sometimes have the bi-focal lenses and sometimes they do not. His glasses alternate between bi-focal and regular lenses approximately seven times throughout the rest of the film. At the end, he is wearing black rimmed glasses without bi-focal lenses.

Correction: My mother has two pairs of glasses - one bifocal, one regular. It is possible to have two sets and use them for different times.

Corrected entry: In the scene where the first team is about to go into the reactor chamber to attempt a repair, Harrison Ford bids them well with the phrase "may God be with you". In the 1960's the U.S.S.R was a communist super power and the state's official position was that of Atheism. Throughout the film, Harrison Ford exemplifies the state's objectives in all aspects. Therefore, it is highly unlikely he would ever refer to "God".

Larry Kohut

Correction: The Russian Orthodox Church existed throughout the Communist era. The official atheist stance of the Communist government was most propagated during the 30s and 40s, during which time church membership declined drastically and believers were harassed, some church leaders were killed. By the 60s church attendance and membership actually began to increase. A Russian of the time could still say "God be with you" without it being a religious stance. It would mean nothing more than "good luck." It's the same as in English, the word "Goodbye" was derived from the phrase "God be with ye."

Presumed Innocent (1990)

Corrected entry: When Rusty is first charged with the murder, the police obtain a search warrant for his house and they do what appears to be a thorough search. Near the end of the movie, it is revealed that the murder weapon was a roofing hatchet/hammer, kept in a tool crib, stored in the basement of Rusty's house. Given that the police knew the nature of the murder weapon, it is inconceivable that the basement of the house would not have been searched for such a weapon. When Barbara confesses to the murder, we learn how detailed and thorough her plot was. Given her attention to detail, it is hard to understand why she would have not washed the blood and hair from the hatchet/hammer before it was returned to the tool crib.

Correction: Helen has the hammer hidden elsewhere - not in the house - during the search, and after the trial and Rusty's exoneration, knowing the house won't be searched again, she puts it where Rusty will find it. She WANTS him to know that she killed the woman he was having an affair with.
