Continuity mistake: As Joseph is about to run away through the corn field, the shot pans across the corn and it is blowing in the wind. In the very next shot as Job says, "You're not going through the corn are you?" the corn is now totally still. (00:11:40)

Continuity mistake: When Joseph stumbles into the road, Burt hits him with his car. In the initial shot we see that Joseph's body had landed in the middle of the road on a yellow line. In a following shot, his body is now seen to be by the side of the road. (00:15:35)

Continuity mistake: When Job is hanging up the lantern in the barn, as the winds blow, there are two children huddled up, to the right of Job and the others. In the next shot of Burt entering, one of the children has vanished. (01:15:05)

Continuity mistake: At the start of the film when Vicky gives Burt his birthday present, there is a radio on the bedside shelf, to the right of the wall plug fixture. When she turns the radio on in the following shot though, the radio is under the plug fixture. (00:06:50)

Continuity mistake: When Burt and Job are out in the cornfields, trying to set up the hose, Burt tells Job to turn the valve. As Job turns it, his ripped cardigan is hanging from his elbow. In the next shot it's suddenly up on his shoulder. (01:19:50)

Continuity mistake: When Burt, Vicky, Job and Sarah arrive back to the corn-trashed car at the end of the movie, the corn stuffed inside the front of the car is no higher than the open bonnet, yet in the next shot corn is sticking out, up higher than the open bonnet. (01:23:20)

Continuity mistake: When Joseph stumbles onto the road, Burt brakes to a halt, and swerves. As he swerves, there are tyre tracks on the road, in front of the car, from a previous take. Additionally, the tracks change and (dis)appear. (00:15:30)
