Visible crew/equipment: When you see the plane flying to Tibet you can clearly see the blades of the helicopter from which the shot was taken at the top of the screen. (00:49:20)
The Golden Child (1986)
Directed by: Michael Ritchie
Starring: Eddie Murphy, Charles Dance, Charlotte Lewis, J.L. Reate
Revealing mistake: When Sardo is aiming at Jarrell running you can see Kee Nang hiding behind a post, looking to the side waiting for her turn to get into the shot. (01:13:55)
Continuity mistake: When the old man is talking to Chandler on the porch in Tibet, he picks his nose with his pinky finger. When it cuts back to him, he's picking with his index finger instead. (01:04:30)
Trivia: The Golden Child only speaks once in the entire film, saying, "I know". (01:23:05)
Trivia: The boy who is the Golden Child isn't really a boy at all. The director's cast a young girl named J.L. Reate to play the part. As for the lack of hair, no prosthetics or rubber used here, as they really did shave her head bald.
Chandler Jarrell: I don't know, maybe he cut himself shaving and bled to death looking for a kleenex.
Kee Nang: She's over 300 years old.
Chandler Jarrell: How do you manage something like that?
Kee Nang: One of her ancestors was raped by a dragon.
Chandler Jarrell: Does that happen a lot where you come from?
Chandler Jarrell: Only a man whose heart is pure can wield the knife, and only a man whose ass is narrow can get down these steps. And if mine's is such an ass, then I shall have it.
Question: Does anybody know why Sardo Numspa can't pronounce J's? Such as when he pronounces Chandler Jarell as Yarell. I've looked but can't seem to find any explanation.

Answer: A lot of non english speaking countries have trouble pronouncing the letter J as it does not appear in their alphabet. It is a fairly recent addition to the english language too. Previously words that now start with a J would have began with an "I" sound as in "Iarell".
