Directed by: Gaspar Noe
Starring: Albert Dupontel, Jo Prestia, Monica Bellucci, Vincent Cassel
Genres: Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Visible crew/equipment: When Monica is in bed with her boyfriend and they get up to dance, the whole film crew is mirrored on the glass of the window.
Revealing mistake: At the party someone asks Marcus his name and he replies 'Vincent' the actor's real name (Vincent Cassel).
Marcus: Who are you?Mourad: Who am I? Until proof of the contrary, I can be your best friend.
Mourad: The woman who was attacked is someone you know? You don't feel very good? It's tough... You always think it only happens to other people, but if it happens to you, you are helplessly lost.
Alex: You know what people say? There are no women who can't come, only men who can't fuck.
Question: What is the meaning of the flashing lights at the end of the movie (after the camera pans from Alex reading the book at the park)?
Chosen answer: The flashing lights are to create a sense of uneasiness again. Gaspar Noe uses low frequency sound to create nausea, headaches, and disorientation in the beginning and uses it again here to make the viewer feel sick after the mood changes dramatically. Also it symbolizes the chaos that occurs in the universe & how life can easily spiral out of control as it does in the movie.
