Continuity mistake: In the scene where James Spader meets Keanu Reeves in the graveyard, we first see a Ford Taurus taxi driving through the gates, but when Spader gets out, the taxi is now a Chevy Caprice.
The Watcher (2000)
Directed by: Joe Charbanic
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Marisa Tomei, James Spader, Ernie Hudson
Continuity mistake: There is a scene during the cops' frantic search for the first missing girl where a red-headed lady cop is sitting at a desk with a computer screen. On the screen, however, is the picture of the SECOND girl, not the first one. The picture of the second girl hasn't even been sent to them yet.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where James Spader and another cop are at the Vietnamese restaurant, there is a front shot of the cop putting food in his mouth with some chopsticks, then the camera cuts to a side angle shot and the chopsticks are nowhere near his mouth.
Trivia: Keanu Reeves was forced into making this movie when his assistant forged Keanu's signature on the script. Rather than a lengthy courtroom battle, Keanu decided to just film the movie. He was also contractually obligated not to speak negatively about the film for a whole year. After the one-year deadline was up. Keanu began trash talking the movie and the circumstance as to why he did it.
Joel Campbell: It's never quite that easy. You go through the door, and they're never just sitting there waiting for you with a welcoming smile on their face. Best you can do is hope they fuck up and do what you can to be there when they do.
Dr. Polly Beilman: And then blame yourself for the killings?
Joel Campbell: Oh, no. I blame the asshole who did them.
David Allen Griffin: Why did you turn away from me? Why was it so hard for you to accept? Cos you know I did it for you. You came so close to me that night. I remember what I felt when I heard your footsteps falling behind me. Pride. I thought it would keep us together forever. For me it was our finest moment. I can still see the flames.
Question: When Joel and the police are talking about whether or not to go to the press about the first photo girl, why does Joel decide that a certain officer should deal with the press?
