Other mistake: Special shots can always be executed also as corners. All good, but their animations more often than not involve long runs across the field, obviously inappropriate for the circumstance.
Other mistake: In Story Mode, "World Youth Championship 3-1", the section "Netherlands no.1 in the World" concludes with the whole team shouting in unison (there's also an audio clip with the quintet of characters reciting the line at once), but the line is wrongly attributed to an unspecified "Teammate."
Other mistake: The wall calendar in the hospital background during Story mode has a total of 23 days in the month.
Character mistake: In the "After the Mexico Match" cutscene, Espadas tells to Tsubasa in the hospital "You knew you won the moment you DEFELECTED the ball with your face", in an obvious typo.
Character mistake: During the "World Youth Begins (Part I) " cutscene Shingo Aoi is taunted by Italian star player Salvatore Gentile. Gentile says; "Giapponese are so bad at football." This mish-mash of English and Italian is nonsensical, it should be, if anything "Giapponesi are so bad", plural, not singular.
Other mistake: In the World Youth (part I) story mode section, during the cutscene going by the title "Sao Paulo try-outs" there's dialogue between Roberto Hongo and Tsubasa where the two lines "This will be my first step... in Brazilian football" come from Brazilian coach and former star-player Roberto's mouth, when it's Tsubasa that should say it, being a Japanese youngster who just arrived in Brazil. The cutscene even ends with an artwork of Tsubasa saying that very same sentence.
Other mistake: In Story Mode, the first chapter of the World Youth segment has a Shingo Aoi mission titled "In Italy, they call him 'El Principe del Sole' ." No they would not!"El" is Spanish, the definite article in italian is "il." Il Principe del Sole, is how they would call him.
Other mistake: The top Italian goalkeeper in the game is "Zino Hernandez", wrong transliteration; the katakana used for the sound Zi and Ji is the same, but between the non-existant "Zino" and the very common name"Gino" the choice should be obvious (not that Hernandez is a typical Italian last name, but it's a possibility and a choice mutuated from the manga).
Other mistake: In Part 3 of the Juniour Youth saga, during "The Victory Pennant" cutscene, Roberto tries to get on stage to talk to Tsubasa. Katagiri stops him to tell him "You can't get past here with out a pass." "Without" should be one word.
Other mistake: When the match goes to penalties, if the last of the 10 regular penalty kicks is the decisive one, the game prompts a message of victory (or defeat) at "sudden death penalties", which is obviously incorrect, being the next phase.
Character mistake: In the presentation of the World Challenge mode, tutorial girl Sanae says that there are "5 possible attempts possible."
Other mistake: The Sliding Block technique description says "It requires that the player possess the perceptive ability", etc. Possesses, not "possess."
Character mistake: Story mode, Asia Qualifiers, part 1. In the second chapter of Hyuga's training scene, Maki Akamine asks him "Can you can't this one? It's my best pitch!", obviously meaning "can you CATCH this one."
Other mistake: One of the waiting screens in between matches deals with the possibility to collect items "in ability limit break scenarios." There is a schedule specifying the various type of characters those items are designed for, a schedule for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday...Sunday and Sunday.
