Calvin can't settle on a writing that keeps both himself and Ruby happy. She threatens to leave him but he threatens that she can't and proceeds to prove it by making her his literal puppet. Ruby collapses after screaming repeatedly Calvin's a genius. He decides to write that she is free. His book is published and is a success. In what may possibly be a dream, Calvin and his dog meet a girl who looks exactly like Ruby who is reading his book.
